"Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin...."
There is a saying an old chinese proverb that speaks that to know ones sorrow you have to walk in their shoes. Jesus did just that. Emanuel God with us came and walked on the very earth that we do now and others that have gone before us.
As I was reading Genesis Chapter 2 this morning I came upon the passage whereby the LORD God made Adam from the dust and breathed life into his nostrils making Adam into a living soul.
Here we see in this scripture that has so much depth to it that even many books couldn't contain the wonder of it! But this scripture refers to Jesus whose soul was an offering for sin, the sins of the whole world no less. Jesus the Word made flesh lived as a human being but was without sin whose body had a soul just like ours. He was filled with the Holy Spirit and baptised by John no less. John forbade it at first but Jesus speaks to John let it suffer to be so to fulfill all righteousness.
Yes Jesus walked this earth not only to show us an example to us it is much more than this! Many follow other people who are good people and they probably are. But doing good deeds as worthy as they are missed the whole point about Our LORD Jesus Christ. The scripture here in Isaiah 53 v 10 speaks of Jesus' soul being an offering for sin. Jesus is the only man to do this for He is very God. No human on all the face of the earth neither in the past, present or indeed the future can wipe away completely the sins of the world or even just one man! Truly even the angels sing in the multitudes over one sinner that repents.
Whilst there are many that congregate in the multitudes even yet speaking the name of Jesus truly to be converted and follow in the footsteps wholeheartedly walks the long-suffering path of Christ Jesus. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him: he hath put him to grief. No-one wishes to put any harm on anyone at all deliberately but here it speaks most categorically that the LORD was pleased to bruise Jesus and to put him to grief. Why? Because without his soul as an offering for sin then we are all headed the same way to hell. The second death awaits and is written and spoke about both through the Old and New Testament.
We are reminded when the disciples seeing how hard it is to enter into the Kingdom of God speak out in alarm Who can then be saved? Jesus replies with men it is impossible but with God all things are possible.
I marvel at the conversion of my own soul which is just the beginning then the true work continues throughout our lives. I am amazed when the LORD brings me through a trial that I cannot comprehend but then I am later shown and can see the beginnings of fruits in my life. Truly it is a working of God. For by Grace we have been saved and this is not of ourself lest we boast.
I really thank the LORD for His Grace for I know it is truly of Him and I also know that He who has begun a good work in us will complete it. Praise Him!
So do not think it strange dear brethren if you are suffering for the sake of Jesus Christ. Rejoice for your names are written in the Book of Life. Take note that our LORD trod the very same path.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
