Full with a bold majestic beauty
Makes it the queen of all other flowers
It's a symbol of two different kinds of love
And possesses certain God given powers.
One is a graceful soft tender love
A symbol of deep feelings and affection
God embedded an inherit love
When he created its natural perfection.
Then there is a symbol of a tough love
Tiny thorns can prick the hand
But the second time you grab the stem
You do it as carefully as you can.
A mother can be just like a rose
She can be caring and still be stern
She must carefully balance both kinds of love
Receiving respect and love in return.
My mother's job was never easy
She performed with loving care
I gave her a rose and kissed her cheek
And thanked God that she was there.
