Many prayers in a prayer meeting are not genuine

Today prayer meetings are ruined by long prayers
They are not direct and many play around with words
As a result these prayers are empty and use up unnecessary time

The brothers and sisters should pray
Short direct prayers related to the condition
Brothers and Sisters should also be genuine and
Their words in the prayer meeting should be honest
Saints in a prayer meeting must learn to be real

Many prayers in a prayer meeting are not genuine
When some pray, they give the impression that
Some man should hear and be impressed by that pray
Prayer is not preaching; we want God to hear our prayer
In a prayer meeting, praying short prayers and genuinely
Should be the norm for the progression of a meeting

The Bibles prayers are predominantly short
This will be a good pattern to follow
Many prayer meetings today are almost powerless
There are too many topics being prayed about and
The one accord found in Matthew 18 is nonexistent

Ten out of ten prayer meetings are ruined by long prayers
They are not direct and many play around with words
As a result these prayers are empty and use up unnecessary time

Hi Mark; While many prayers might miss the mark in today's hurry up generation, I don't believe God is as concerned about the length of our prayers as he is with the motivation of our praying, the passion or lack of passion in our praying and the content of our prayers. I am concerned that in our generation much that is called prayer is shallow and empty. Little if any thought is put into it, and I believe it is offensive to God. We should first come into his presence in humility and in adoration and worship him. Then bring our petitions before him being specific in our requests. Our most heart felt prayer should be "Thy will be done." Rest assured my friend that God is merciful to us even in our shallow prayers because he understands our weakness and inconsistency. God will always answer the prayer of a sincere heart no matter how imperfect it may be.
