A couple of years ago I read an article, “Wanted: A 21st Century Prophet” by Reverend Alfred Williams. Reverend William’s message made a lasting impression with me because he spoke about the need for modern day prophets like those of old, in particular, Jeremiah.
I can identify with Jeremiah; he preached repentance to a generation that had not only completely lost its way, it had become delusional. Things had gotten so bad that God told Jeremiah not to pray for the people of Jerusalem. Not only that, God said to Jeremiah that even if Samuel, Moses and Elijah were to intercede for the people, only those three would be spared from judgement. Now that’s what I call a serious situation. Yet that is where I believe we are today.
Jerusalem, the city that was meant to have peace with God, became God’s enemy through their continual rejection of Him. They were a people that point blank refused to listen to God, and so they became covenant breakers. God’s people entered Canaan by the sovereign will and power of God, however, for them to remain in the land they were required to listen to His voice and follow His instructions.
Today, the body of Christ is in great danger because we have thrown our hand in with the church system. Having entered into life in Christ through faith by the sovereign will of God, we are about to lose our life in Christ because we do not listen to Jesus, that is, willingly cooperate with Him. In John 15:1-17 Jesus makes our relationship with God and Himself very clear; dead branches will be gathered together and burned. Make no mistake about this; at the beginning of the 21st Century, the church system is dead. Things have gotten so bad in the church system that there is no point praying for people in it (her) and there is no point interceding. We are to command the body of Christ to come out of the church system (her).
Now to the hardened church-goer and the indoctrinated member of the body of Christ what I am saying here makes no sense. Therefore, the messengers that carry this “news” are not welcome, they won’t make many friends and they certainly won’t make any money, not even a meagre living. But these messengers won’t be concerned with any of these things anyway. They will only be concerned with God; His life, His message and His reputation.
The church system, beginning with Constantine and ending with the desire for a one-world religion, has made an absolute mockery of God’s Name and unfortunately I have had quite some part in that in the past. Now, hopefully, I know better. But that has more to do with God than me.
The church system has abandoned Truth to follow after the delusions of its own heart and its own thinking. I believe that the church system will end up rebuilding the tower of Babel. It will build a one-world church that seeks to bring unity and peace to all mankind, and “Christians” will "build" in the name of Jesus.
By doing this they will play right into the hands of Satan and destruction will come upon them, the “unfaithful wife” and the “mother of illegitimate sons” will be both widowed and childless in one day.
At the very heart of the church system is rebellion against God; men who set aside God’s way of righteousness to establish their own. This was the desire of the men that built the tower of Babel, to be like God and decide for themselves what is good and what is evil. This was the demise of Adam and Eve.
So right back in the garden we see man’s desire to shape and control his own destiny, to choose how he wants to live and how he relates to God.
Is this not we see manifest in the denominations of the church system today, men choosing how they want to relate to God? Not only that, we see men in church system institutions using the way to God as a means to gain and maintain control over whole populations; systematically dismantling the work of God through Christ to build their kingdom in the earth.
If you want to know what happens to God’s people when they set aside His righteousness to establish their own then look no further than Israel. On the one hand Jesus rebuked the people who should have known better, on the other, Jesus wept for a people that He longed to gather unto Himself but would have no part with Him.
Let me say this; today, the rebuilding of the temple at Jerusalem and the re-establishing of animal sacrifices will not be pleasing to God. After all that God has done through Christ, these actions will be like throwing God’s salvation back in His face. Do not associate yourself with these things in any way whatsoever.
So here is the magnitude of the delusion we are dealing with in the church system today. Imagine going to Jerusalem in the next day or so, visiting the Wailing Wall and telling the Jews there that they need to repent, because the Jesus they are waiting for has already come and gone (from this earth). Then tell them that the man their ancestors had executed by the Romans for “crimes against Judaism” was actually the saviour and that His body was not “stolen”, He really did rise from the dead. Do you think you would encounter any opposition? Do you think you might be lucky to escape with your life?
I see that the church system today is not that different from Judaism. It will violently oppose anyone who tries correcting or challenging it.
Therefore, to get God’s message across to the church system (knowing full well that the vast majority will not listen) is going to require men made in the mold of Jeremiah:
• Totally consumed with God’s plans and purposes.
• Concerned only with God’s message for today.
• Well acquainted with pain and suffering (God’s breaking process).
• Familiar with the flow of history, can “see” the current situation and its implications for the future.
• Wrestling with their human nature.
• Disciplined in maintaining an ongoing dialogue with God.
Such men will not be interested in the hire or reward that the church system has to offer. They will be willing to give their lives to get people free from it.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
