O WHAT SONG THE STONE COULD SING
O what song the stone could sing
On Resurrection Day
When it was moved by angels hands
Showing where our Lord did lay
The dirt as well as it did creak
When being under such pressure
Sang a song of rapturous bliss
Sang it in full measure
The chosen angels wore a smile
I'm sure from ear to ear
In their announcement to frightened Mary
"He's Risen! He's not here!"
Absolute astonishment
Sent her on a mission
Telling His disciples
This wasn't just a vision
Listening to her story
Which sounded a tad absurd
They thought they better check it out
From what they had just heard
Back they ran to investigate
The story that Mary chose
Hastening into the empty tomb
They saw His linen clothes
Did utter chaos rule the day
When Jesus Christ arose
All of nature testified
"He's defeated all His foes!"
Jesus then revealed Himself
To the others during the day
Telling them of His wondrous power
He would be with them alway
Giving them their commission
Go ye therefore and teach
He the written and living Word
What message we have to preach
