May I trust you when skies are blue,
When trees are green with spring-time zest,
When blossom flowers in every hue,
When birds sing sweet from puffed-out chest.
Lord, may I trust when all is well,
When many blessings you impart,
When good is more than I can tell,
Help me trust then with all my heart.
May I love you in quiet days,
When problems, hardships, are not great,
When sweet the path and rich the ways
I walk in carefree bless-ed state.
Lord, may I love you more than all
The great good gifts of many-a kind
That daily, fully, round me fall,
Help me love then, with all my mind.
May I know you in depth and might
Far deeper than I’ve known before,
And may your wondrous holy light
Shine through my being – to the core.
Lord, may I know you? May it be
Your face that clearly is my goal,
Your loveliness, Your purity.
Help me know then, with all my soul.
