Ritual suicide loss of honor was something our hero Sir Eric didn’t take lightly. After a night of Sir Eric playing his video games his tired worn mind had begun to transport him to the dark game world. He could no longer differentiate the reality of this world and the reality of the game world. All of the sugary caffeinated Mountain Dew had enabled him to stay up that was true, but it was also causing him to hallucinate. It hadn’t helped matters that his x box was hooked to the internet making the game seem very life like in the darkness of night.
After hours of doing battle with the dark warlords of the Samurai game he loved so. He had come very close to defeating the evil overlords, but alas in the end he was unsuccessful in his quest. He was humiliated in front of all the other Samurais of the world. He could never live down this shame it would haunt him for the rest of his life. Was there any way he could regain his honor? Perhaps the other Samurais would be forgiving and understanding?
Then the answer came, the answer he didn’t want to hear. From all over the globe came the cry! From the four corners of the earth he heard their taunts, he heard their jeers and they pierced his very soul! He did not want to acknowledge them, but their sound was deafening! It went on for hours. They demanded satisfaction! Their thirst for blood and atonement would not be satisfied until it was done. He knew what he must do.
Slowly he arose and he went to the hall closet there he took from its sheath his most prized and most dreaded possession. The sword his father had given him after being in the Orient during the war, once it belonged to a ruler of Indonesia. It had killed many men in battle, but for years it had been peaceful. Would its thirst for blood finally be quenched today?
Did he really have the nerve to do this thing? This thing he was required and bound by honor to do? The jeers he knew would not stop till he did and he could no longer live with them. He had no other way out. He sat down in and he raised the sword to his neck. His mind raced with a million thoughts. How could he have known that when he had sat down to play this game, it would in fact be his last night on Earth? How could he have known the game he lived his life for would also cost him his life? Now with bravery in his heart and courage in his soul he raised the sword one last time to his cold sweaty neck. He closed his eyes and he ended it. He ended it all! He thrust the sword with all of his might forever ending his pain. He cut the game in two!
