What's New
Devotion to Mary is Diabolical

"Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and EXALTED BY THE Lord as QUEEN OVER ALL THINGS."
--Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2nd Edition 2007, #966, pg. 252.

"In a wholly singular way she cooperated by her obedience, faith, hope, and burning charity in the Savior's work of restoring supernatural life to souls. For this reason she is a mother to us in the order of grace."
--Ibid., #968, pg. 252.

BOTH of these Catholic doctrinal statements, along with a host of others, equals out right blasphemy and heresy! The Catechism is full of heretical doctrine from cover to cover. And it's not only the Catechism that we find teachings like this. There is a truckload of writings from Catholic scholars, theologians and popes that put forth this same unbiblical teaching!

In a book I have called "The Everything Catholicism Book" by Helen Keeler and Susan Grimbly, two Roman Catholics, they devote a portion of the book to revealing the history of Mary. On page 87 of Chapter 7, titled "Mary, Mother of God" they talk about a type of prayer called the Litany of Loreto:

"The Litany of Loreto, a REPETITIVE prayer that concentrates on the many virtues of Mary, addresses her as Mother, Virgin, Queen, the Mirror of Justice, Seat of Wisdom, Vessel of Honor, Mystical Rose, Gate of Heaven, and MORNING STAR-for a total of fifty honorifics. As each epithet is made, the congregation responds with the words 'PRAY FOR US.'"

Several things to notice here about that quote. The first thing is that the authors acknowledge that Catholics pray repetitive prayers-meaning they say the same words over and over, which is what is done in the Rosary. Let's look in God's Word and see if Jesus likes this activity:

"But when ye pray, use NOT VAIN REPETITIONS, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking."
-Matthew 6:7

Secondly, the seemingly endless list of titles for Mary screams blasphemy! The only one worthy of such exaltation is God. Finally, we come to the use of the title Morning Star. This is a title Jesus used for himself, yet the Catholic Church rips it away and gives it willingly to Mary:

"I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star."
-Revelation 22:16

In fact, Jesus' role in Catholicism is greatly diminished from that of the Word of God. He is still the Son of God, the Son of man, the Savior and Redeemer. But Mary now shares in all the salvation, redemption, mediator roles. She is prayed to for intercession. Statues of her are worshipped all over the world. According to the authors of "The Everything Catholicism Book" a Catholic theologian named Bernardino of Siena (1380-1444) declared that, "Mary was more powerful than God, that she seduced and enraptured him, and that she did more for God than God did for man."

Now, whether or not that is a true statement made by Bernardino, the fact remains that it is just plain stupid! It just simply amazes me how Satan has so easily duped so many people into worshipping a woman who yes is in heaven, but a dead woman none the less. For there to be so much dogma or doctrine for a human woman by a church that claims to be Christian should scare any professing born again believer if they know their scripture to any degree.

Here is a perfect example of the Catholic Church's separation from scripture. On page 79 of the aforementioned book, the authors state this under the heading of Essential:

"Just as Christ ascended into heaven after the Resurrection, the Church asserts that Mary overcame death and was assumed body and soul into Heaven by means of divine power. The Assumption does not appear in the Scriptures BUT was proclaimed as doctrine by the pope in 1950."

This just goes to prove my point. The Catholic Church adopts new doctrine every generation and declares that the Church faithful are to blindly believe it. Here's the deal. For those of us who are Bible believing born again followers of Christ, we know that the Bible is and has been sufficient for everything we need. Scripture tells us that God cannot lie and that he does not change and that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. There are no new revelations, no alterations or additions or re-defining of scripture to affect each generation of believers. God gave us everything we need when he formed the Bible.

Meanwhile, for 1700 years Catholic doctrine has been changing, evolving and re-defined by men. God's doctrines never change and they will never change. But Catholic doctrine comes from men and men have to change to be relevant with each new generation.

In that respect, Satan devised a masterful plan to develop Marian devotion over the centuries by using his fallen angels to possess countless people and "inspire" heretical writings concerning Mary going all the way back to the mid to late 300's AD. Legends and hymns to honor her sprung up in the East and were very strong there. The unholy devotion caught hold in the West by the 400's AD. In fact, the earliest recorded prayer to Mary dates back to 200 to 300 AD called the Sub Tuum, which emphasized her powerful intercession.

By 431 AD at the Council of Ephesus, Marian doctrine was forged. Mary, a sinner, a human being, was declared by fallible, sinful men, to be the Mother of God; an extremely unsettling title. She became the Theotokos, "God-bearer" in Greek. Now, yes it is true according to scripture that God came down from heaven as the Holy Ghost (because the Holy Ghost is God, just as Jesus is God) overshadowed Mary causing her supernatural pregnancy and was wrapped in flesh, bone and blood for nine months. BUT who she gave birth to was Jesus our Saviour!

It wasn't enough for the Catholic Church to acknowledge that point, that Jesus was God made flesh, they had to go to the extreme and "define" the principle doctrine of God manifest in the flesh by attaching a superstitious title to a human woman. If Jesus is God in the flesh, what is wrong with just saying Mary, the mother Jesus? We know he is God, and saying she is the Mother of God only confuses the issue and leads people to think that God had a mother and thus had a beginning.

Why was there such a need to place these titles to a dead woman?

But it is not just ludicrous titles fixed upon Mary. There are churches or shrines built in her honor all over the world. I found a book recently listing a bunch of Marian shrines in our country and it seemed like there was at least one in every state and a quick Google search pulls up even more.

Mary worship seems more intense in other countries, so much so that every morning noon and night prayers are offered and hymns are sung to her. By 600 AD, the practice of offering prayers to Mary for various innumerable things really took off. The notion that Mary hears such prayers aimed at her is simply ridiculous. She is given godlike powers to aid and assist the Catholic faithful where she can control her angry, judgmental Son Jesus, who is pictured in paintings or in statues as a perpetual child or dead adult.

Here are some examples of prayers to Mary:

"O admirable Mother, present me to thy dear Son, as his eternal slave, so that as he has redeemed me BY THEE, BY THEE he may receive me! O Mother of mercy, grant me the grace to obtain the true wisdom of God; and for that end receive me among those whom thou lovest and teachest, whom thou leadest, nourishest and protectest as thy children and thy slaves."

"Holy Mary, help the miserable, strengthen the discouraged, comfort the sorrowful, PRAY for your people, plead for the clergy. May all who venerate you, feel now your help and protection." (St. Augustine)

"Who could know God, were it NOT for you, most holy Mary? Who could be saved? Who could be preserved from dangers? Who would receive any grace, were it NOT for you, Mother of God, full of grace? What hope could we have of salvation, if you abandon us, O Mary, who are the life of Christians?" (St. Germanus of Constantinople)

See what I am talking about? All Catholics have to go through Mary to get to Jesus. However, more and more the Church is teaching that it is only necessary to get to Mary and she'll get you into heaven. This is heresy! Let's see just what Jesus himself has to say about this:

"I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by ME."
-John 14:6

How much more clearer does God have to get people? It is by Jesus ALONE or not at all! Mary can't get you to God! The Pope can't get you to God! And repetitive prayers definitely can't get you to God!

Yet Catholic hierarchy seems to be blissfully ignorant of this. From the supposed "universal" (which is what Catholic means) Church's inception, control has been the number one aim. Christianizing Pagans by absorbing them and their feasts and festivals and observances into the Church was the simplest way to control the lands, empires and peoples once it started to become organized.

By the late 4th century, the Catholic Church was up and running. Marian devotion was advancing as well. Catholics like Ambrose, Augustine and Jerome, Eusebius and Irenaeus were loyal in their devotion and writings about Mary. And with devotion came doctrines and decreed Church teachings about her. One such dogma that wasn't officially declared a dogma until 1950 is the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. This teaching (which is required of all Catholics to believe without question) says that at the end of Mary's life, she was taken up to heaven body and soul.

However, this doctrine, which actually dates back to 495 AD, met with heavy resistance, starting with Pope Gelasius, who rejected the Assumption as heresy. In fact, anyone who taught the Assumption of Mary was condemned as a heretic. But now, within 58 years it is officially recognized as Church doctrine. Something smells fishy to me!

Another doctrine that was rejected for centuries is the Immaculate Conception of Mary. This dogma is the belief that Mary was preserved from ALL stain of original sin since her conception. Teaching like this goes completely against scripture. Mary herself confessed to Elisabeth her cousin that she needed a Saviour, "And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour." (Luke 1:47)

No one is exempt from sin! It is passed down to EVERY human being and whether Mary or another woman was to be the one to bring Jesus into the world, she would need a Saviour too! Just look at Romans 5:12 and 19:

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon ALL men, for that ALL HAVE SINNED." "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous."

The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that Mary is called "the All-Holy" where she lived a sinless life, found in paragraph #493. The Bible says ONLY Jesus was sinless:

"For he hath made him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who KNEW NO SIN; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

"But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb WITHOUT BLEMISH AND WITHOUT SPOT." (1 Peter 1:19)

"How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself WITHOUT SPOT to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" (Hebrews 9:14)

Another troublesome doctrine is the Perpetual Virginity of Mary, which teaches that Mary was a virgin before she gave birth to Jesus and then AFTER giving birth to Jesus. That's what the Catholic Church teaches anyway. Let's see what God himself has to say about this issue:

"And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us?" (Matthew 13:54-56) See also Matthew 12:46; John 2:12, 6:66-7:5; Acts 1:14 and 1 Corinthians 9:5 and Galatians 1:19. In order to perpetuate this false doctrine, the Church has taught that brothers and sisters were merely general terms that could refer to any kind of kinsman. But being that the New Testament was written in Greek, there are clear distinctions made between words used in describing family relationships.

The Greek word for brethren (or brother in today's vernacular) is Adelphos. The Greek word for sister is Adelphe. These are the correct words to use to identify that Jesus did in fact have brothers and sisters, the children of Joseph and Mary AFTER Jesus. The Greek word for cousin is Sungenis, which was used to identify Elisabeth in Luke 1:36 as Mary's cousin as described by the archangel Gabriel. The Church even goes so far as to say that these "brothers" and "sisters" of Jesus are stepsiblings from Joseph and a previous wife before Mary. This is a lie! The Catholic Church refuses to acknowledge the fact that God states that Jesus was Mary's FIRSTBORN child, meaning she did have more children after Jesus (see Matthew 1:25 and Luke 2:7).

So, who are you going to believe, God or the traditions of men as found in the Roman Catholic Church? I pray that ALL born again believers reading this loudly said GOD!

According to the Catholic hierarchy, Mary was taken up to heaven and was subject to a coronation, which is seen in many paintings all over the world where she was crowned and given the title of Queen of Heaven, where the angels bow low before her. Here is what the Catechism says:

"Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and EXALTED by the Lord as QUEEN OVER ALL THINGS." (#966)

These are the Church's own words folks, not mine. Their view, as inspired by the devil to create a religion wrapped in Christian coating, is solely set up to adore, worship and exalt and venerate a dead woman. Mary can no more hear their prayers than the man on the moon. Now, let's take a look at what God's Word says who is to be exalted:

"The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high..." (Isaiah 33:5)

"Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for ALL that is in heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all." (1 Chronicles 29:11)

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalm 46:10)

Sounds to me like it is God who is to be exalted above all, don't you? A previous Pope officially bestowed the title of Queen of Heaven to Mary and set up a feast day to honor her as this new title. As a matter of fact, 7 months out of the year contain days established to honor Mary:

January 1-Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God
May 31-The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
July 1-Immaculate Heart of Mary
August 15-The Feast of the Assumption
August 22-Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary
September 8-Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary
November 21-Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
December 8-The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception

Once the Reformation got going Protestants rejected excessive Marian devotion. However they did not reject Marian doctrine completely! Men like Martin Luther and John Calvin, Ulric Zwingle and Thomas Cranmer and William Tyndale, just to name a few, maintained belief in Mary's perpetual virginity and the title Mother of God. Calvin however rejected her role as an intercessor for sinners. Contrary to popular Protestant thinking, Luther wanted to reform the Catholic Church from the INSIDE, he never left the Church and died unsaved as a Catholic. His 95 Theses, or protests, were mainly about the Papacy, rites and rules. Here is a web site where you can read the English translation of them for yourself. Be sure to carefully read numbers 6, 7, 9, 25, 29, 30, 38, 40, 41 and 71:

In a publication called "Daily Readings from Luther's Writings," Augsburg Fortress, Luther is quoted saying this about Mary:

"O Blessed Virgin, Mother of God, what great comfort God has shown us in you, by so graciously regarding your unworthiness and low estate. This encourages us to believe that henceforth he will not despise us poor and lowly ones, but graciously regard us also, according to your example."

So, according to that statement, the amount of comfort God will show us depends on how much he showed Mary? BUNK! This is pitting believers against believers. ALL believers receive the same comfort when we are saved. Luther is also on record saying the following:

"Christ was the only Son of Mary, and the Virgin Mary bore no more children besides him...'brothers' really means 'cousins' here, for Holy Writ and the Jews always call cousins brothers." (Sermons on John, chapters 1-4, 1537-39 AD)

This is a flat out lie! I just explained all this earlier! Here are more quotes:

Luther even believed and taught the Immaculate Conception of Mary (which was only a popular notion circulated throughout the Church and was not made official dogma until 1854), 327 years after he said this:

"It is a sweet and pious belief that the infusion of Mary's soul was effected without original sin; so that in the very infusion of her soul she was also purified from original sin and adorned with God's gifts, receiving a pure soul infused by God; thus from the first moment she began to live she was free from all sin." (Sermon: "On the Day of the Conception of the Mother of God," December, 1527)

That is out and out heresy! But it is merely the beginning. Luther in his writings proves he worshipped Mary:

"The veneration of Mary is inscribed in the very depths of the human heart." (Sermon, September 1, 1522)

"She is the highest woman and the noblest gem in Christianity after Christ. She is nobility, wisdom, and holiness personified. We can NEVER honor her enough." (Sermon, Christmas, 1531)

Don't be fooled my fellow born again believers, Luther is NOT the Father of the Reformation as he is trumped up to be!

Over the decades and into the coming centuries, devotion to Mary grew stronger and stronger. One Benedictine monk named Rupert, of Deutz, was the first to interpret the Song of Songs (from the Old Testament) with Mary in mind. Another satanic idea dredged up by a Louis-Marie Grignon de Montford was that the devil feared Mary more than God and that a true devotee would approach Christ through Mary, to be completely consecrated to her. Another powerful Catholic theologian and a major proponent of a Marian movement that existed to glorify Mary was Alphonsus de Liguori. He wrote a massive tome (which I own a copy of) called "The Glories of Mary." This satanically inspired book has been hugely influential and widely read. He makes claims in his book that people are to pray to Mary as a mediator and to look to her to trust her for answered prayers. The book even goes so far as to say that there is no salvation outside of Mary and contains quotes from many Catholic saints and writers.

To some his views along with others of his movement seem extreme, but he was never declared a heretic. As a matter of fact, he himself was declared venerable in 1796 and canonized as a Saint in 1839 and finally declared a "Doctor of the Church" (a person whose teachings carry weight and authority). This book is openly and officially promoted by the Church and his teachings have influenced many popes. Here is but a sample of the contents found inside:

"Saint Bernardine of Sienna well observes, 'that when Mary, the ark of the New Testament, was raised to the dignity of Queen of heaven, the power of hell OVER men was weakened and dissolved.'" (Chapter 4, Section 2, page 120)

"That it is not only lawful but useful to invoke and pray to the Saints, and MORE especially to the Queen of Saints, the most holy and ever Blessed Virgin Mary, in order that they may obtain us the Divine grace, is an article of faith, and has been defined by general councils." (Chapter 5, Section 1, page 127)

"That it is most useful and holy to have recourse to the intercession of Mary can only be doubted by those who have no faith. But that which we intend to prove here is, that the intercession of Mary is even NECESSARY to salvation." (Chapter 5, Section 1, page 129)

"We should have nothing that has not passed by the hands of Mary." (Chapter 5, Section 1, page 137)

"Saint Anselm says, 'that as it is impossible for one who is NOT devout to Mary, and consequently not protected by her, TO BE SAVED, so is it impossible for one who recommends himself to her, and consequently is beloved by her, TO BE LOST." (Chapter 8, Section 1, page 196)

Numerous popes are on record praising and elevating Mary to the level of Jesus in heaven and claiming she has the power to save souls. According to scripture, the power of saving souls lies in the precious, shed blood of Jesus Christ. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. Therefore the power of saving souls rests with Jesus and Jesus ALONE. Not with Mary and Jesus or "through" Mary or by any other means. According to Pope Pius XII in his 1956 encyclical "Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus," he declares that, "By the will of God, the most Blessed Virgin Mary was INSEPARABLY JOINED WITH CHRIST IN ACCOMPLISHING THE WORK OF MAN'S REDEMPTION so that our salvation flows from the love of Jesus Christ and his sufferings, intimately UNITED with the love and sorrows of his mother."

Pope John Paul II once said, "By dedicating ourselves to the Heart of Mary, we DISCOVER a SURE WAY TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS." (Call of the Ages, Thomas W. Petrisko, page 257) Consider these quotes from previous popes:

"Mary, not one of thy servants has ever perished: may I too be saved?" (Pope Benedict XV)

"O Mary Mother of Mercy and REFUGE of sinners! We beseech thee to look with pitying eyes on poor heretics and schismatics. Do thou, who art the Seat of Wisdom, enlighten the minds wretchedly enfolded in the darkness of ignorance and sin, that they may clearly recognize the Holy, Catholic, Roman Church to be the only true Church of Jesus Christ, OUTSIDE OF WHICH NEITHER SANCTITY NOR SALVATION CAN BE FOUND. Call them to the unity of the one fold, granting them the grace to believe every truth of our holy faith and to submit themselves to the Supreme Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Jesus Christ on earth, that, thus being united with us by the sweet chains of charity, there may soon be but one fold under one and the same Shepherd; and may we all thus, O Glorious Virgin, exultantly sing forever: 'Rejoice, O Virgin Mary! Thou alone hast destroyed all heresies in the world!' Amen." (Pope Pius XII, The Raccolta, Benzinger Brothers, Boston, 1957, No. 626)

"May 7th, Pope John Paul II dedicated his general audience to the Virgin Mary and urged all Christians to accept Mary as their mother." (Vatican Information Service, May 7, 1997)

"When Mary offered herself completely to God together with her Son in the temple, she was already sharing with him the painful atonement on behalf of the human race." (Pope Leo XIII, Jucunda Semper, 1894)

"To such extent did Mary suffer and almost die with her suffering and dying Son; to such extent did she surrender her maternal rights over her Son for man's salvation, that we may rightly say SHE REDEEMED THE HUMAN RACE TOGETHER WITH CHRIST." (Pope Benedict XV, Inter Sodalicia, 1918)

"Mary, for having been associated with the King of Martyrs in the ineffable work of human Redemption as Mother and co-operatrix, she remains forever associated with him, with an ALMOST UNLIMITED POWER, IN THE DISTRIBUTION OF GRACES WHICH FLOW FROM THE REDEMPTION." (Pope Pius XII, radio broadcast, 1946)

"All those who seek Mary's protection WILL BE SAVED for all eternity." (Pope Benedict XV)

"The foundation of all our confidence is found in the Blessed Virgin Mary." (Pope Pius IX)

Another link in the Mary-worship chain was put in place by the devil when he created the Rosary. This is built around a series of rambling, repetitive prayers that are to be said while fingering a chain of beads aimed at aiding in meditation and contemplation of the "mysteries." One of the prayers recited during the Rosary is the Hail Mary. If anyone has seen a Mass on TV or heard about it, you might know how it goes:

"Hail Mary, FULL OF GRACE, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, PRAY FOR US SINNERS, NOW AND AT THE HOUR OF OUR DEATH. Amen."

This is totally sick! Again, the very words and prayers and devotions of Catholics condemn themselves for who they are...WORSHIPPERS OF MARY!

I am not writing this article out of any hatred to Catholics or anything like that. I am writing this to alert and warn my fellow born again believers of the teachings of the apostate Church that is Catholicism as a whole, that claims to be Christian BUT is CLEARLY NOT! Think about it for a second. The Catholic Church calls biblical teachings on faith alone, grace alone, Jesus as Savior alone and that works do not save, etc. heresy, so how can they be Christians? DON'T BE FOOLED! Catholics are schooled in countering "heretics" like us. The Catholic Church uses many of the same words and phrases as Christians but with entirely different meanings, thus presenting a massively false gospel.

The word Rosary means "crown of roses" because each Hail Mary prayer is a rose and each Rosary is like a crown of roses that each person presents to Mary. The Rosary was introduced by Peter the Hermit in 1090 AD. In the 13th century, it is believed that St. Dominic preached the importance of saying the Rosary every day because he was confident it would protect Catholics from sin and evil. Dominic was also visited by an apparition of Mary, who told him, "I want you to know that, in this kind of warfare, the battering ram has always been the Angelic Psalter which is the foundation stone of the New Testament. Therefore if you want to reach these hardened souls and win them over to God, PREACH MY PSALTER." (De Dignitate Psalterii, Blessed Alan de la Roche)

Sure forget about preaching the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation (Rom. 1:16)! The Psalter this fake Mary was talking about is also known as the Marian Psalter or Our Lady's Psalter. It is an alternate version of the Psalms of David, transformed by St. Bonaventure, that changes God from verses in the Book of Psalms to Mary or one of her many titles.

On May 13, 1981, Pope John Paul II had been shot and in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, he is on record praying to Mary saying, "Mary, my mother! Mary, my mother!" John Paul was Polish, so Polish pilgrims placed a picture of Our Lady of Czestochowa (Mary), in Poland, on the throne where the Pope normally sat, where people gathered around it. After he had recovered, John Paul gave Mary all the glory for saving his life. Portraits and statues of Mary are huge in the Catholic Church. They are set up in shrines, churches and public locations all over the world.

Statues of Mary are usually made of marble, porcelain or other materials. Some have real crowns that are made of gold. Huge amounts of money are spent on jeweled crowns and rich clothing for special statues of Mary. Other statues have a sunburst or halo behind their heads loaded with gems, rubies and diamonds. Some statues are used in street processions, some here in America, which are done to honor Mary, where a statue will be carried up high on a platform so it is clearly visible. The platforms that carry the statues are dressed up like parade floats with rows and rows of flowers. Songs are sung in her honor. Consider this quote from Pope Pius XII:

"Paradise recognised that she was really worthy of receiving honour, glory and rule, because she is full of grace...the perfect Mother of the World, the beloved Spouse of the Holy Spirit." (Pope Pius XII, on the coronation of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima, 1946, from the "Magnificat, Mary Immaculate, The image and likeness of God," by Sr. Maximilian Marnau, OSB)

It is NO mystery what God's 2nd commandment in the Old Testament, found in Exodus 20:4-5 says, "Thou shalt NOT make unto thee ANY graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt NOT bow down thyself to them, nor serve them." The Church claims that any worship or veneration given to statues passes on to the person for which it is intended. This is rubbish and is still idolatry and condemned by God. Catholics worship some statues themselves since "miracles" are attributed to them. The Book of Hebrews tells us we can now come boldly to the throne of God, to him directly, NOT through statues!

There are also giant monuments made for her. There is one in Wyoming and Texas and other locations around the country and the world. I have several web sites I am going to provide at the end of this article for everyone to check out, where many statues are shown with people on their knees praying to Mary. This IS idolatry plain and simple and giving devotion to ANYONE other than God IS idolatry! The Catholic Church has made it a practice of trying to put statues, paintings and images everywhere they can; from the church buildings, to homes, to the streets. An oddity coming out of image worship is the appearance of the worship of watermarks and stains that (though occur naturally) seem to resemble that of a robed woman. Paintings show Mary in various forms from standing on the earth as beams of light shoot out of her hands at the earth, while others show her seated in heaven being crowned as queen and yet others show her with raised hands that have nail marks in them with light coming out of them.

Here are some other quotes from various Catholic theologians:

"God has entrusted the keys and treasures of heaven TO MARY." (Thomas Aquinas)

"NO ONE EVER FINDS CHRIST BUT WITH AND THROUGH MARY. Whoever seeks Christ APART FROM MARY seeks him in vain." (St. Bonaventure)

Some more of Mary's titles are co-redeemer, co-redemptrix, co-savior, co-operatrix and Mediatrix of All Graces. Here are yet other quotes from Catholic writers:

"Who can worthily thank thee and adequately praise thee, O Blessed Virgin, who by thy fiat has SAVED a lost world." (St. Augustine)

"Sinners receive pardon by the intercession OF MARY ALONE." (St. John Chrysostom)

"All those who seek Mary's protection WILL BE SAVED for all eternity." (Pope Benedict XV)

In 1534 a Catholic priest named Ignatius of Loyola founded the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuits, which played a leading role in the Church's Counter-Reformation to fight the Protestant movement that was sweeping through Europe and England. It wasn't until 1540 that Pope Paul III officially recognized the militant order and made use of them. Ignatius claimed to receive visions of Mary (in actuality it was merely a fallen angel appearing as Mary) and wrote a book called "Spiritual Exercises" that relied on mind control methods for his followers to serve him and the pope. The Jesuit order grew quickly and one of their first means of attack against Protestantism was to attack the Word of God and infiltrate Bible-believing churches.

Their other course of action was to create Catholic schools and colleges and universities where Marian doctrine could be heavily espoused and used to influence the youth. Here is an interesting quote characterizing the Jesuits:

"A mixture of piety and diplomacy, asceticism and worldly wisdom, mysticism and cold calculation: as was Loyola's character, so is the trademark of this Order." (Catholic theologian J. Huber, "Les Jesuites," 1875, as cited in "Secret History of the Jesuits," Edmund Paris, page 19)

The Virgin Mary was THE most important thing in Ignatius' life and with her as the foundation of his religious devotion, he passed it down to his Order. He was convinced that Mary was guiding him through visions and voices. His writings that made up his "Spiritual Exercises" book (which is still available to the public and used in Catholic schools) consisted of:

"Giving Mary morning and evening salutations, charging the angels to greet her, expressing a desire to build her more churches, carrying a Rosary day and night as a bracelet, etc., were enough to ASSURE OUR SALVATION." (Secret History of the Jesuits, Paris, page 61)

Mysticism filled the Jesuit Order and was used to pollute the children they taught. To shed more light on the evil, Marian indoctrinating methods of the Jesuits, consider this quote from a concurring opinion by Justices Douglas, Black and Marshall as the Supreme Court of the United States, in two cases, on June 28, 1971, held by decisions of 8 to 0 and 8 to 1, that State aid to parochial and private schools was unconstitutional:

"In the parochial schools Roman Catholic indoctrination is included in every subject. History, literature, geography, civics and science are given a Roman Catholic slant. The whole education of the child is filled with propaganda. That, of course, is the very purpose of such schools, the very reason for going to all the work and expense of maintaining a dual school system. Their purpose is not so much to educate, but indoctrinate and train, not to teach Scripture truths and Americanism, but to make loyal Roman Catholics. The children are regimented, and are told what to wear, what to do and what to think."

Loraine Boettner wrote this in his book "Roman Catholicism":

"Most of the teaching in the parochial schools is done by the nuns. They teach the children to revere and worship the Virgin Mary and to trust in images and Rosaries whether they know anything about faith in Christ or not."

Apparently our nation's founding fathers worried about the Jesuits and their Marian indoctrinating practices. John Adams wrote this to Thomas Jefferson in 1816:

"I do not like the reappearance of the Jesuits...Shall we not have regular swarms of them here, in as many disguises as only a king of the gypsies can assume, dressed as printers, publishers, writers and schoolmasters? If ever there was a body of men who merited eternal damnation on earth and in hell, it is this Society of Loyola's." (The Power and Secret of the Jesuits, Rene Fulop-Miller, 390)

Over the centuries Satan needed something more than people giving blind devotion to a dead woman. He needed a supernatural angle to really sell his Mary. What better way to reach out to Catholics to control them supernaturally than by way of apparitions or ghostly visitations, using his evil spirits, fallen angels to appear as Mary in dreams. In 1830, 14 years before the pronouncement of the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, Catherine Laboure was the recipient of an apparition that was termed the Immaculate Conception. Supposedly she saw Mary standing on a globe with rays of light shooting from her hands toward it. The words "O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee," framed her form.

A medal was struck containing that image and became known as the Miraculous Medal because of the miracles associated with it. Marian apparitions have increased throughout history, all of them proclaiming world peace and unity. In the 13th century, St. Simon Stock saw an apparition of Mary, who told him to wear what is called a scapular, a piece of woolen cloth with two pieces of brown cord that has pictures of Mary at the ends. She told him that everyone who wore the scapular would be saved from hell and that on the Saturday after their death, SHE would take them into heaven.

In his book "Call of the Ages," Thomas W. Petrisko describes the scene of an apparition as follows:

"It was at Fatima (in Portugal) in 1917 that 'Mary' appeared to three children revealing herself as the Immaculate Heart. When the children were given a vision of hell, 'Mary' told them, 'You have seen Hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world the devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If people do what I tell you, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.'" (Call of the Ages, Petrisko, page 257)

The devils are having a hay day appearing to men, and women and even children as Mary or Jesus, spewing deceitful information and unveiling "spooky" visions and ghostly visitations. One of the three children from Fatima named Lucia received a vision of "Jesus" in a convent in Spain in 1929. This fake Jesus also elevated Mary when he said, "I want my ENTIRE Church to know that it is through the Immaculate Heart of My Mother that this favor is obtained, so that devotion to her Immaculate Heart may be placed ALONGSIDE DEVOTION TO MY SACRED HEART." (Ibid, page 31)

One vision after another comes to back up the previous one to legitimize the ungodly visitations which the Roman Church asserts are real visions from God. The evil spirits claiming to be Mary and Jesus want the world to establish devotion to her claiming that it is the will of God. Had Rome been more discerning and known it is to worship God ONLY, it might not be in the state it is currently in. But it continues to willingly sanction the lies, giving the vile spirits more and more room to spread their disease.

Jacinta, another of the three children from Fatima, before she died in 1920, had one last thing to tell people:

"Tell everybody that God gives graces THROUGH the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Tell them to ask graces from her, and that the Heart of Jesus wishes to be venerated together with the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Ask them to plead for peace from the Immaculate Heart of Mary, for the Lord has confided the peace of the world to her." (Call of the Ages, Petrisko, page 257-258)

There are groups, orders and organizations within the Church that exist to exalt, glorify and worship Satan's Mary. One such group is called the Blue Army, which claims to have over 20 million members. Another group is the Marian Movement of Priests, who are supported by 400 cardinals and bishops and over 100,000 priests, which is one quarter the total number of priests in the entire Roman Catholic Church. This group and its leader, Father Stefano Gobbi, claim to be led completely by messages from Satan's Mary, communicated between various devils and unsaved men who are known to be Catholic visionaries. Here is one such message received by Father Gobbi:

"A true reunification of Christians is NOT possible unless it be in the perfection of truth. And truth has been kept intact ONLY in the Catholic Church, which must preserve it, defend it and proclaim it to all without fear." (To The Priests, Our Lady's Beloved Sons, Father Don Stefano Gobbi, page 278)

There is and has been for a while, a push to use Mary as an ecumenical bridge to unify Catholics and evangelicals. In author Alan Schreck's "Catholic and Christian" book, he writes this about how Christians should listen to Mary:

"God is speaking a prophetic word to the church today through Mary. Christians at least ought to be willing to listen to her message in order to test it. If God does continue to speak to the world through Mary, this could be another sign to Christians of her continuing role in his plan of salvation." (Catholic and Christian, Schreck, pages 185-

Aversion to Marian doctrine over the years has waned quite a bit, which has led to a flurry of publications by Protestants. Princeton Theological Seminary biblical scholar Beverly Gaventa has led the way with such works as "Mary: Glimpses of the Mother of Jesus" (1995) and collected essays called "Blessed One: Protestant Perspectives on Mary" (2002). Magazines like Christianity Today and Time have produced puff pieces popularizing Mary. Scot McKnight put out "The Real Mary: Why Evangelical Christians can embrace the Mother of Jesus." Robert Jenson composed a two-volume tome called "Systematic Theology" (1997 and 1999) and a collection of co-edited essays called "Mary: Mother of God" (2004). Robert Jenson (a total heretic) at one point makes the rationale that because Mary brought Jesus into the world, (God in the flesh) we ought to ask Mary to pray for us.

Christians asking other LIVING Christians to pray for them is totally Scriptural, Paul asked for believers to pray for him and his efforts to spread the gospel of Christ. BUT asking the dead, Mary and deceased saints to pray for us and giving her praise and honor and bowing before statues, kissing them and dressing them up like dolls IS idolatry! The Bible leaves NO room for believers to pray to and worship ANYONE but Jesus Christ. God receives glory through Jesus and only God is holy:

"Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify THY name? For THOU ONLY ART HOLY: for all nations shall come and worship before THEE..." (Revelation 15:4)

"Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for HE is holy." (Psalm 99:5)

Since the Protestant Reformation Satan has raised up Catholic men and women to defend Mariology and Mariolatry. Tactics include an attempt to claim that the Church has 3 levels of worship in an effort to differentiate worship of God, Jesus and Mary. Satan had also raised up men starting with early Catholic Church fathers like Eusebius, Jerome and Irenaeus and Augustine to change God's Word. His aim was to carve up a Bible that presented Mary with a larger and even prophetic role in history, (see Genesis 3:15 and Luke 1:28 in a Catholic Bible like the Douay-Rheims Bible, also known as the Jesuit Bible or The Revised Standard Version Catholic Bible, 2006, Ignatius Press. In fact, I did some research and found a web site that features an online version of Jerome's Latin Vulgate WITH the English translation side-by-side. You can select any O.T. book and chapter to read or any N.T. book and chapter located to the left on the web page. You can print off whole books if you want. Just for an example, here is Jerome's Genesis 3:15:

"I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: SHE shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for HER heel." Here is the web site:

Satan even raised up Catholic apologists (defenders of Catholic doctrine) to seek out and assault Protestants who would speak or write against Mariology. Their mission is simple: use whatever means at their disposal, via internet, newspaper, books, magazines and television to discover any Protestants who disagree with Catholic doctrine about Mary and either seduce them ecumenically or destroy them completely! It sounds extreme I know, but Satan will go to these lengths to protect his quasi-Christian religion. Remember, millions of Protestants were butchered during the Catholic Inquisitions in the later part of the Middle Ages and throughout the Renaissance Period; which is all part of recorded history, even in Vatican libraries.

Yet another abhorrent teaching in the Catholic Church is that of Mary and her relationship to the angels and devils. In the beginnings of Matthew and Luke we see how angels play a role in announcing Jesus' birth. This is where the Church carries Mary and angels forward into obscurity. Numerous Catholic theologians, popes and writers have put forth additional and highly heretical information on this subject.

Two books in my ever-expanding resource library provide a wealth of Catholic information, one of them being a book about angels and devils (from a Catholic point of view) and a book called the "Dictionary of Mary." Consider the following quotes about Mary's relationship with angels:

"An 8th century liturgical antiphon for the feast of the Assumption reads, 'The holy Virgin Mary is exalted ABOVE the choirs of Angels to the heavenly kingdom.'" In official Church documents from modern popes, Mary is referred to as the Queen of Angels. In the revised Liturgy of Vatican II, Mary's Queenship of the Angels is clearly affirmed. In his Encyclical "Ad Caeli Reginam" or "To the Queen of Heaven" in English, Pope Pius XII stated, "Ever since the Council of Ephesus [431 AD] it has pictured Mary as Queen and Empress, seated on a royal throne, adorned with royal emblems, crowned with a diadem, surrounded by Angels and Saints, and dominating not only the forces of nature but also the evil influence of Satan." (Dictionary of Mary, Coronation of Mary, page 81)

According to that statement, one would think that Catholics might think Mary is a god or the same as God. In 12th century "Christian" art, Mary is portrayed as seated at her Son's right hand, with a crown on her head. Theologians, according to "Angels and Devils," by Joan Carroll Cruz, assert that Mary had been protected by multitudes of angels since her birth. While heavenly angels stand at her every side, devils meanwhile fear and flee from her. According to Cruz in her book, St. Louis de Montfort (1673-1716) said that, "The devil fears her, in a certain sense, more than he fears God himself." St. Alphonsus de Liguori records in his book "The Glories of Mary" as Joan Cruz cites in her book, that when St. Alphonsus Rodriguez was troubled by the devil, he would ask for Mary's help. The devil even told Rodriguez to give up his devotion to Mary and he would stop tempting him.

Cruz also cites St. Bonaventure writing that, "men do not fear a powerful, hostile army as much as the powers of Hell fear the name and protection of Mary." Mary is even invoked during exorcisms for help to cast out devils. One incident recorded by Cruz tells of a priest saying to the devil:

"That's enough! You are going to leave, for the Virgin Mary has ordered you to; it's not from me anymore, a little servant of God, but from the Virgin Mary." (Angels and Devils, Cruz, page 259)

As the exorcism continued, Satan confessed his dread fear of Mary, exclaiming at one point, "I'm afraid of her, the Great Lady, of her alone, for I can do nothing against her." Satan and his devils are merely playing games with unsaved religious folks, preying on their fears and superstitions.

In closing, I have nothing against Mary...OF THE BIBLE! It's the Catholic Mary I have a problem with. Yes, Mary did play a role in the history of humankind for bringing Jesus into the world, BUT only that, nothing else! Remember, when Gabriel appeared to Mary and told what her role was going to be in all this, he told her that it was something that was GOING to happen, (see Luke 1:31). It wasn't something where she said, "Okay, well, let me think about whether I want to do this and I'll get back to you in the morning."

No, it was going to happen because God chose her for the task, where her response (found in verse 38) was "...be it unto me according to thy word." Another words, "okay." Anything beyond that is SATANIC DOCTRINE, the DOCTRINE OF DEVILS.

JESUS is THE only one any of us should EVER go to for ANYTHING...PERIOD!

P.S. Need some more proof of the Catholic Church's feelings about Biblical Christianity? Here are some quotes from canon laws and decrees issued at the Council of Trent, which met over a period of several years from 1545-1547, 1551-1552 and 1562-1563, where it was their sole purpose to utterly crush the Protestant movement. In many canon laws, a series of "anathema's" or curses were issued, here is one that speaks volumes:

"If anyone saith that by faith alone the impious is justified in such wise as to mean that nothing else is required to cooperate in order to obtaining the grace of Justification...LET HIM BE ANATHEMA." (The Canons and Decrees of the Council of Trent, from The Creeds of Christendom, Philip Schaff, Canon IX)

The Church even has a sin called the sin of presumption, which means NO ONE in the Catholic Church can have the absolute assurance of their salvation, as in to presume they are saved eternally! HOWEVER, born again believers DO have absolute assurance of salvation, God tells us so in his own Words:

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye MAY KNOW THAT YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:13)
