Withdraw to the wilderness
By Robert Schaetzle Sr.

So he Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayer. [Luke 5:16]

As our Lord desired to be alone with the Father
Solitude with the Creator of heaven and earth
His presence my delight, the arms of His love

Receiving the Fatherís vision, to lead my way
His love reaching the anxieties in my heart
Calm over the burden of the hour

His rest I seek, renew my hope for heavenly treasure
Bring release and escape from the darts of doubt
Mature my faith from your word in my heart

More my surrender, to bring His increase
Fullness of Spirit, His power to prevail
Pleasantness come, through sound of silence

Listening to His voice when I withdraw
His sound in the quiet wilderness
His hand reaching to put in mine

Purchased through redemption of Jesus
Having also believed, sealed in His promise
Thanks to praise Him, the joy of my salvation

Far above all rule and authority
In His woods Iíll find my way
His presence in the wilderness, Iíll stay

AMEN
