In St. John chapter 15, Jesus urges us to continue in His love by keeping His commands and our joy will be full because His joy will remain in us [9-11]. He commands that we love one another [12]. He said that we are His friends if we do what He commands [14-15]. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” [13] He calls us friends and says that as long as we remain in Him and His word abide in us, we shall ask what we will and it shall be done [7]. What a wonderful Saviour! He doesn’t want to call us servant, He has made us His friends. We now have access to all the riches of His Kingdom. We shall no longer be in need of anything because He will supply all our needs.
He said in Matthew 16:19 “And I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever though shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loosen on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Therefore, “You are not to be like cowering fearful slaves. You should behave in stead like God’s very own children, adopted into His family—calling Him, ‘Father, Dear Father!’ For the Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us we are God’s children. And since we are His children, we will share His treasures—for everything God gives to His Son, Christ, is ours too” (Romans:8:15).
If you still can’t see the reason to reclaim your royal status, then I pray that God will begin a work in you so you can reclaim your royal status. Please take note that the enemy of our souls will let us see the deception as truth and try to ruin us with it but if we abide in God and His word abides in us we can detect the deception before we are deceived. The church will continue to grow. Jesus gave us that assurance when He said to Peter:
“And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).
We have already overcome. So claim your victory in the name of Jesus. Then continue to live a life of abundance, helping one another to grow in the knowledge and wisdom of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness: considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted” (Galatians 6:1). After death comes the judgment. We cannot help our brother or sister after they die, it is now while it is day we have to work the work of Him who sent us. If your brother or sister falls, give them a helping hand. Let your light so shine that they may see your good works and come to glorify your Father in heaven. “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels: and then He shall reward every man according to his works. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death till they see the Son of man coming in His Kingdom” (Matthew 16:27-28).
What a loss to be a royal and live like a pauper! "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Matthew 6:33 The King of kings and Lord of lords, the very One Who calls us friend, will teach us everything we need to know to live the life intended for those who inherit Kingdom Life. Praise be to my God and Savior!! Thank you, Jan, for the concise method of your words that clearly spoke the truth. XXXO Jody
