When Looking Forward Depresses You

What do you see when you look forward?
Does your heart sink as if there is no reward?
The circumstance may appear bleak and grim.
Yet it is required of our faith to smile to the brim.

When you look forward and you fill depressed,
You must look backwards and say “I am blessed”.
If you don’t count your blessings and show gratitude,
You will be frail and weak for the prayerful attitude.

Do not allow what you see to deter your faith.
See the future with the Eye of “Jehovah Ro-phe”.
You will receive healing in your inner man.
It is not about how you will fail but what God can.

Let the Holy Spirit lead you to do what you’re able.
Then God the provider puts more than food on your table.
When looking forward depresses you,
Look backwards and be filled with God’s own view.

Nay, many times you have to forget before you progress.
Just as before Ephraim, there was Manasseh.
My dear, put upon you the garment of praise.
“I will never leave nor forsake you” so the Lord says.

(Jer.29:11; 2Cor.5:7; Php.3:13; Heb.13:5)

I just lost my job, but my wife and I still trusted in God for His provision. He did open a new door for us, and that has strengthened our faith. Thank you for your well-written article.
