'Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, nor was the word of the LORD yet revealed to him' 1 Samuel 3:7 In verse one we see Samuel ministering to the Lord. Yet he didn't know Him. Could it be possible then that one could be so busy with the work of ministry and not know the LORD? Absolutely! Do you know Him? Unless the Lord is merciful to us I am afraid that some may be serving in His house but in vain. When we know the Lord, it makes all the difference. Notice that after this one encounter with the Lord his life changed. The people just 'knew that Samuel had been established as a prophet of the LORD' (Verse 20). Why? Because he knew the Lord. Again, do you know the Lord? If not, why not?

Never thought of Samuel this way. Interesting perspective. Thanks for this reminder!
