1.Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2.By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3.For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4.For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5.Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
6.This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

I am a competitive gymnast. I had the great opportunity, a month ago, to stand on the very top of the podium and receive a shiny gold medal. It was the first gold medal I had gotten all season and I was very satisfied with myself. I felt that after all my hard work, I had finally become a champion--- or so I thought.
Later, the Lord helped me realize that just because I had received that medal for gymnastics achievement did not mean I was a champion at all. Rather, it was the honorable fight of getting the medal and the relying solely on the Lord to do it. If I had the right attitude and sought the Lord, I was a champion already, with or without any "bling."
While coming to this realization, I wrote the following:

Elaborate trophies and medals of gold,
does not a champion make,
but rather,
An iron will to do what is right,
All for the Savior's namesake.
**************************************************
Christian, are you struggling with your confidence? Christ has "overcome" the world! If you are His that makes you a champion already. Just because you do not seem to have any earthly "bling" or awards does not mean you are not a winner. In fact, just because you have not received any earthly rewards could just mean that you are doing something right!
