Tired and busy,
I took a moment to wander to the beach.
The sun was setting,
I took off my shoes
Lay them on the sand,
And stood a while to rest.
I saw the sky.
Today so blue, so awesome.
Yet I know,
That where I could not see
Were stars, too many to count
Full of beauty, majesty and light.
I saw the sea.
Today so calm, so still,
It took my breath away.
Yet I know,
That where I cannot see
It was full of life,
Colourful, vibrant, exciting.
I saw my life.
Today so full, so busy.
Yet I know,
That scratch the surface and I’ll see
Eternal life,
Full of God’s purpose and plan,
Full of grace and destiny.
And as I stood reflecting,
I heard Your voice.
It whispered my name.
I felt Your hand, enfolding mine,
I knew Your breath upon my face.
And I knew that You, the Helper, had come.
Rested,
Strengthened,
Comforted,
I picked up my shoes,
Turned,
And together
We went on our way.
