A few days ago, my Grandson Keegan came home from school and told his Mum,{my daughter, Louise} that there had been a huge tsunami and many people had died. She looked at her son, Keegan and she laughed! 'Don't be silly, Keegan. If that had happened, it would be all over the news.'
Now, I might add here, Keegan is doing a power point presentation about tornados at school.
When the enormous quake occurred in Japan, Louise looked at her son and said; 'Keegs, you predicted this.'
I had the pleasure of having both Keegan & his brother Zac sleep over only last night. Keegan is 10 years old, Zac is 8 years old.
This morning, Zac was awake before I even thought of rising! {6am}. He was watching Spongebob Squarepants.After I greeted Zac, he said; 'Nana, I'm hungry!" Nothing new here, he has an appetite that would make a giant blush!
By 9am, Keegan wakes. 'Put the news on Nana", which I did. He watched the story unfold about Japan.
After his breakfast, Keegan said to me;
' Nana, nobody should be allowed to live within the Countries near the Ring of Fire!"
He then went on to name the Countries in detail.
Sitting there, at the breakfast table, feeling like a stunned Mullet, I offered; 'But darling, people have to live somewhere',
I then went on to explain WHY people live either on a fault line, or beneath a volcano, etc.Adding that their surroundings are simply beautiful.
'Sorry Nana' he said.'It does not matter about the landscape, PEOPLE ARE DYING OR THEY ARE DEAD!"
I shut up.
