Fiction
Jane bought a budgie bird, and named him him Billy. Billy chirped loudly, and her boyfriend Chad couldn't stand to hear him chirp.
Very early in the morning at 6:00am, Billy chirped as Chad slept on the couch. The bird cage was beside him, so Chad yelled,
"Shut Up! I'm trying to sleep!"
Jane was able to sleep soundly. She thought Billy's chirps were lovely like music to her ears.
When Jane does the dishes, Billy liked to sit on her shoulder. Sometimes Jane let the bird fly almost everywhere in the apartment except for the bedrooms, and the bathroom.
One morning when Jane took a shower, she thought that she heard Billy chirp in the bathroom. As soon as she stepped out of the tub, she found him on the shower curtain panel. She realized that birds love the sound of water.
As soon as Jane was about to leave the apartment to go to work, Billy tried to escape from her unit, so she had to quickly leave the apartment. Whenever Jane came home from work, Billy chirped nonstop until it was late at night when he was tired.
A few days later when Jane opened her screen door to go out on the balcony, Billy flew out, and Jane panicked and said,
"Billy come back here!"
Billy flew back in. It was cold outside, and she didn't want Billy to freeze to death. When Jane closed the balcony door, Billy stood on the floor. A flock of birds flew on the balcony, and Billy chirped along with them. It was as if they carried a conversation.
Sometimes Jane liked to take Billy on her hand. the bird would stay on for 10 minutes, but she hated when bird droppings were on her hand.
For weeks and weeks, Jane taught billy how to say "Pretty bird," and "Hello." When Billy was finally able to say those words, Jane was so amazed that she called Chad. When Chad came over, Billy was hesitant at first to speak. When he said Hello to Chad. He was amazed as well.
Following that day, every morning Billy said, Hello when Jane woke up. Billy also chriped. He was quiet when he ate. Since it was spring, he could hear all the birds outside.
When Billy flew around the apartment, he accidentally hit his head on the window. Jane panicked that he might have badly hurt himself. AS soon as she saw Billy flat on his back on the window sill, she picked to see if he was still alive. He was breathing, but she was afraid that he had a concussion. She caught the vet right away. He told her to come down to the clinic right away, and to keep the bird warm.
Jane put Billy in the box, left the apartment, and ran outside to the parking lot. She took the bird to the veterinary clinic was a few blocks away from where she lived.
When the doctor saw Billy, he thought that he might have a mild concussion. He chirped weakly at the doctor. Jane prayed to God that he would spare the bird's life.
"I'll prescribe some medication for the bird. It's a liquid medication that he should drink with water. As soon as he examined the bird, she took the bird in the box back to the cage.
It was windy, and cool outside. So she immediately ran out to the car. She placed the box beside her. She could hear Billy moving around in the box.
As soon as Jane arrived home, she placed Billy back into his cage. He was able to sit on his perch, but he looked a bit puffy. She put the medicine in the tube mixed it with water. Billy sipped abit of it, and he chirped, but he still sound weak. She closed the cage, so that he won't fly out. she wanted him to recover.
A week later Billy recovered, and he became stronger, and he ate his food. He was back to himself. Jane thanked God for sparing his life. Billy was a good friend to Jane. When she and Chad were married a year later, Chad became to love Billy. Now they have 2 children and 2 birds.
