Let us rejoice
and exult,
and give Him
the glory,
for
the Marriage
of The Lamb
has come,
and
His Bride
has made herself
ready.
[Revelation 19:7]
*******************
"Are you READY?"

"Eh.....I dunno.
The last time I rode
a HORSE.....
it galloped away...
with me ON it....
and,
I ended up with a cast
on my arm for six WEEKS."

"That won't HAPPEN
this TIME! It's a
PROMISE!"

"Yeah.......well,
she's really CUTE
and all. I like
the little heart-shaped
brown spot on her
white NOSE."

"What did ya NAME
her?"

"DAISY."

"Aw, that's CUTE!
Is that your favorite
FLOWER?"

"Uh, uh.
I don't HAVE a one;
I just thought it was
a good name for a
girl-HORSE,
is all."

"Are you gonna have
a SADDLE? You don't
really NEED one.....
ya know."

"SURE! It's WHITE!
With little DAISIES
on IT! SEE? LOOK!"

"Do you want me
help you put it ON,
for ya?"

"Yeah, okay.
WAIT! I have a little
BLANKET to put UNDER it!"

"THIS ONE?
The YELLOW ONE,
with the little DAISIES on it?"

"YEAH! What's
WRONG with it?"

"NOTHIN'!
COME ON!
Let's get it ON!
It's almost TIME!"

"I dunno,
Raphealo.....
can't I just stay
HOME?"

"No! You HAVE to
COME!
COME ON!
Let's get Daisy READY!
NOW!"

"I'm just not really GOOD
with these big GROUP things.......
I'm gonna
feel LOST...."

"No WAY!
The LORD told
me I have to ride
right BEHIND you!"

"Ya mean,
on DAISY, TOO?
Isn't that gonna
be a little too HEAVY
for HER?"

"NO, SILLY!
Angels don't WEIGH
NOTHIN'! DAISY
will be FINE!
Now....COME ON!"

"Well.....since you're
comin' along, too....
that might be okay..
is MICHAEL
gonna be THERE?"

"Yeah, but he's
gonna be way up FRONT.....
ya know."

"Ah.
With the LORD."

"Hm, hm.
We won't even SEE
him."

"Ah.
Too BAD."

"COME ON!
Get your FOOT
UP! It's OKAY!
I'm holding ON
to ya!
LET'S GO!"

"NOW?
Right NOW?
Ya mean: right NOW?"

"YOU BET!
RIGHT NOW!
WE STILL GOTTA
CATCH'UP TO THE
REST OF THEM!
COME ON!
IT'S ALMOST TIME!"

"WAIT!
WAIT A MINUTE!
DAISY'LL NEED A SNACK
ON THE WAY!"

"NO, SHE WON'T...
SILLY! SHE DOESN'T
HAVE TO EAT!"

"Uh, UH! SHE'S GONNA
NEED A SNACK! I'm already
UP here....could you go get
her bag of CARROTS and..
APPLES?? They're over THERE..
over by the BARN!"

"OKAY! OKAY! But, we better
get GOIN'! The LORD'll be
WAITIN' for US, Julie!"

"He'll UNDERSTAND!
He'll UNDERSTAND!"

(Moments pass, while
Julie's Day-of-the-LORD
guard-angel slides off
Daisy's plump rump,
and scoots over to the
side of the barn to grab
the horse's overly-stuffed bag of
carrots, and apples, and
fresh peaches....and,
then flies back to the
waiting, rather plump Daisy,
who just had a big bag of
oats and tiny sweet apples
before she was saddled....
and the nervous Julie.)

"OKAY! OKAY!
LET'S GET A MOVE ON!
IT'S ALMOST TIME!
I HOPE WE'RE GONNA
MAKE IT!"

"What's the big RUSH?
How do you know it's
almost TIME,
Raphealo?"

"CUZ.........
I can see one of the
Trumpeteers......just
riding over the ridge
of the HORIZON....
his name is Shofaro;
have you ever MET
him? He's that big
red-haired angel....
the one who's shining
up his big, huge SHOFAR."

"Hm....uh, uh.
I'm kind'a shy around
most 'a the other angels....
YOU'RE the only one
I've made FRIENDS
with."

"I'm glad for that,
Julie. You make a
good friend; I'm glad
that the LORD is letting
me ride with you.....
into the BATTLE."

"I haven't been down
to EARTH, in a long
time.....can't we just
stay HOME? Nobody's
gonna MISS US! WHO
WANTS ME RIDIN'
ALONG.....behind them
in a BATTLE? YIKES!
I get nervous just playin'
a game 'a SCRABBLE! WHO
WOULD WANT ME
IN A BIG BATTLE,
with HIM?"

"The LORD,
Julie.
The LORD."

[A SUDDEN BLOW
FROM SHOFARO'S
TRUMPET FILLS THE
HEAVENLY AIR.]

"But......where are
we GOIN'? Where
do we tell Daisy.,.where
to GO?"

"Don't WORRY about
it, Julie! Daisy knows
EXACTLY where to
GO! She's FOLLOWING the
HORSE...OF THE LORD!"

"What's HIS name?"

"The LORD'S horse?
Gee, I never THOUGHT
about it.......but, you're
RIGHT. He must have
a NAME..."

"Yeah, maybe you
can ask SHOFARO;
after all, he's workin'
up front in the LINE."

"We'll see......
HEY! DID YOU JUST
HEAR THAT? THAT
SOUND? IT'S SHOFARO! HE'S
BLOWIN' HIS TRUMPET! LOOK!
HE'S STOPPED RIGHT
BESIDE THE LORD!
RIGHT AT THE EDGE
OF EARTH'S HORIZON!"

"ARE WE IN THE
RIGHT LINE,
RAPHEALO? DO
YA KNOW WHERE
WE SUPPOSED ..
TO BE?"

"YEAH! Right HERE!
Right at the BACK
of the LINE! That's
what the LORD commanded me to DO!"

"With all this big huge
BATTLE about to
HAPPEN......and the
end of Earth's TIME...
He's STILL concerned
about where little-ole-
ME... rides in LINE?"

"Julie."

"What?"

"Who do you think
picked out that yellow
BLANKET for DAISY...
the one with all the
DAISIES....on IT?"

(Julie's eyes blur
for a moment with tears.)
"I thought we didn't
CRY...in heaven,
Raphaelo."

"Well.....you're allowed
to cry tears....
of HAPPINESS."

(Julie grabs an edge of
her white angelic-caftan,
and blows her nose into it.
Then, she wipes her eyes
on a golden strand of Daisy's
beautiful shining mane.)
(Sniff.)
(Sniff.)
"OKAY.
OKAY.....Raphaelo....
Let's GO."
(Sniff.)
"Let's.....GO."
********************
And,
the armies
of Heaven,
arrayed in
fine linen,
white and pure,
followed Him
on
white horses.
[Revelation 19:14]

I absolutely LOVE this piece, Julie! It conjures up the image of heaven preparing for the big battle and hesitancy of Nervous Nellie, uh, I mean Julie. I love how you showed that the Lord cares for every little detail, knows us through and through and makes provision for us. Great writing!
