Recently I decided that my daughter and I should attend the Creation Museum in Northern Kentucky. I was so excited when I heard that the local gospel radio station was planning a trip up there very soon. I was even more excited to think of the gas I could save by going with them. I decided that we would in fact go with them even if we didn't really know these people. I met the Pastor's wife at the station and told her I needed two tickets. She very politely took our names and told us to be there at 5 am. I knew in my heart that there would be a disaster of some kind, because my daughter and I are both horrible at getting up early.
Sure enough we overslept that morning. I quickly called the station and they said they would wait for us. We scurried to get ready and I zoomed, zoomed all the way there. We ran to the bus and quickly got a seat as it was obvious we had held everyone up.
In a few moments the pastors wife began to hand out tickets. The bus was running and so she had to speak very loudly to be heard. She came to us and looked at my daughter and said "Is your dad Steve"? Oh, but that isn't what my daughter heard oh no. She thought she had said "did your daddy speed"? To which she replied a quick and sour "maybe". Well you should have seen the good woman's face. I am sure she thought who are these people we have picked up! I wanted to die and I looked at my daughter with a look of dreaded amazement. Before I could say a word to her she said "what"? In utter bewilderment why she was getting the "look". I explained to her what was actually said we all had a good laugh. After I got over the shock I had to smile again when I thought of what my ex wife would've thought of this situation.
