Return to Me

The following passage is a bit lengthy but well worth the read. As with the entire Word of God it is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. (Hebrews 4:12)

Jeremiah 15:15-21 “[Jeremiah said] O Lord, You know and understand; [earnestly] remember me and visit me and avenge me on my persecutors. Take me not away [from joy or from life itself] in Your long-suffering [to my enemies]; know that for Your sake I suffer and bear reproach. 16Your words were found, and I ate them; and Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts. 17I sat not in the assembly of those who make merry, nor did I rejoice; I sat alone because Your [powerful] hand was upon me, for You had filled me with indignation. 18Why is my pain perpetual and my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Will you indeed be to me like a deceitful brook, like waters that fail and are uncertain? 19Therefore thus says the Lord [to Jeremiah]: If you return [and give up this mistaken tone of distrust and despair], then I will give you again a settled place of quiet and safety, and you will be My minister; and if you separate the precious from the vile [cleansing your own heart from unworthy and unwarranted suspicions concerning God's faithfulness], you shall be My mouthpiece. [But do not yield to them.] Let them return to you--not you to [the people]. 20And I will make you to this people a fortified, bronze wall; they will fight against you, but they will not prevail over you, for I am with you to save and deliver you, says the Lord. 21And I will deliver you out of the hands of the wicked, and I will redeem you out of the palms of the terrible and ruthless tyrants.”

When I read this portion of scripture my heart was convicted but it also rejoiced. I have been in this place that Jeremiah now finds himself. The scripture calls this “Jeremiah’s complaint”. Have you ever rendered unto God a complaint? Have you ever poured out of the hurt, bitterness, anguish, distrust and the confusion of your soul to Almighty God? As Jeremiah is rendering His complain to God we find him in a place of utter distress, depression, discontentment, despair and anguish of soul. Have you ever been there? Are you there now?

And the Lord says, “Return to Me again and again from your place of anguish and distress and now partake of your inheritance, which is the fullness of My protection, provision, peace, unfailing love and mercy. Your wilderness season has burdened and wearied you but if you will turn now, lift up your head and return to Me I will restore you. I will strengthen you and give you supernatural wings to soar above everything that has held you in bondage. I hear the cry of your heart and I Am fully aware of your circumstances. But you must not allow anything to hinder you from fully pursuing My purpose for your life. Put off your misery and lay aside the weight of your complaints and know that I have heard you and I see you. I Am with you to save you and to deliver you from every distress. Your discontentment will deter you; it will take you off track, so lay it aside now. My child it is through the fires of affliction that I have refined you and chosen you. It is in the test of the trial that I have qualified you for My glory and splendor. So arise from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you, arise to new life. Arise and shine and be radiant with the glory of the Lord (Isaiah 60:1) Beloved you are a part of My plan to express the radiance of My glory in the earth. I have assigned you to be My spokesperson in the earth. You have been commissioned to be one who will declare what thus says the Lord and have it come to pass in the earth. Though for a while you have suffered many a trial and tribulation and have had to triumph over much distress and frustration I have called you to be undaunted in persecution and walk in perfect peace and confidence. You are a voice in the earth clothed in the light of Christ; now go forth and shine for the glory of the Lord has arisen to shine upon you. You will triumph and you will prevail. So return to Me now in faithfulness and trust knowing that I Am for you and not against you.

If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
