Visions God’s choice of communication (Part 1)
I’m back to share the other avenue of communication God has with mankind-visions. Yes, a supernatural way in which God speaks to His people. And no you don’t have to be a prophet to experience it.
What kind of people received visions from God?
A) Young men…(Joel 2:28/ Acts 2:17-18)
B) Shepherds…(Luke 2:8-20)
C) A virgin (Mary)…(Luke 1:26-38)
D) A priest (Zacharias)…(Luke 1:11-25)
E) An unbelieving religious persecutor and murderer of Christians (Saul/ Paul)…(Acts 9)
F) An unsaved God fearing religious military man (Cornelius)…(Acts 10:1-8)
G) A barren woman and house wife (Samson’s mom)…(Judges 13:2-25)
H) A husband Manoah (Samson’s dad)…(Judges 13:2-25)
I) A humble disciple (Ananias)…(Acts 9:10-18)
J) Small boy or adolescent (Samuel)…(1 Sam. 3:1-21)
K) Guards from the Roman army…(Matt. 28)
L) Women…(Matt. 28:1-8/ Mark 16:1-11/ Luke 24:1-11)
M) A Butler cupbearer-turn governor…(Neh.1:11/5:14-19)
N) A servant to a prophet…(2 Kings 6:8-17)
O) A Deacon (Stephen)…(Acts 7:55-56)
P) Apostles (Peter Acts 10:9-19) (Paul Acts 16:9-10)
Q) Prophets (Isaiah 6:1-6) (Amos 7-9) (Zech. Chap.1-6) (Daniel, Moses and more…)
R) Teachers (Paul Acts 13:1-2/ 1 Tim. 2:7)
S) Preachers (Paul Acts 2 Tim. 1:11) (Stephen Acts chap.7)
T) Kings David (2 Sam.24:11-19) (Evil King Belshazzar Dan. 5:1-31
It’s so easy to hear some preacher or teacher who doesn’t believe in dreams and visions talk negative about the topic and say they don’t exist anymore because all supernatural signs and wonders ceased when the last apostle died. DON’T BELIEVE THEM. Place your faith in the Word of God. I’m going to teach the topic clearly and practically so you can get in tune with your Heavenly Father through the avenue of dreams and visions.
Dreams and Visions are still Manifesting (Working Today)
After Peter and the 120 disciples were baptized in the Holy Spirit in Acts Chapter 2, they were speaking in different languages supernaturally in the center of Jerusalem. The people who witness them said they’re drunk Peter rose up and preached saying, “and it shall come to pass…” When will it come to pass? “In the last days…” That’s NOW! We are living in the last days. Peter said, “and your young men shall see visions.”(Acts 2:16-21)
Peter was not referring to a physical vision, an idea or something we think and reason out then visualize it in our minds. But we shall see visions.
We shall gaze at something supernatural, spectacular, or a sight we never saw before; or be supernaturally inspired from within our human (born again Holy Spirit filled spirits) as we capture a divine revelation from God or His Word.
If you have never had a vision, a supernatural revelation from God for life or to accomplish something on the earth for the glory of God and the kingdom of God, in these last days God is pouring out His Holy Spirit upon all flesh (Human beings) around the world, and one of the blessings of being filled with the Spirit of God is that young men shall see visions. So the person who receives the vision may have the supernatural revelation and biblical assurance that God desire’s for them to go out and do what He revealed to them.
A) Vision (Heb. Hazon #2377)- A divine revelation; A prophetic VISION by which divine messages are communicated (Ezek.12:22) Second meaning, a message received by prophetic VISION (Prov. 29:18). This meaning’s that someone else may have a prophetic vision and write it down and that will be regarded as a vision. See (Isaiah 1:1)
B) Vision (Heb. Hizzayon #2384)- occurs 9 times it refers to a prophetic VISION in (Joel 2:28) Divine communication (2 Sam. 7:17) refers to a dream (Job 4:13)
C) Vision (Grk. Horasis #3706)- The act of gazing at, external and internal as an inspired appearance: sight vision (Acts 2:17)
What the Bible teaches about Visions
There several biblical facts that we must know about visions.
1. Visions are still manifesting today:
A) Joel prophesied it will in the last days (Joel 2:28)
B) Peter declared that his time until today God’s out pouring of His Holy Spirit will provide believers with supernatural dreams and visions until Jesus comes again (Acts 2:16-21)
2. We can expect visions to come because God promised them to us (Acts 2:17-18)
3. God said, Where there is no vision, no revelation, or an ignorance of God- the people will cast off restraints, run wild, and ultimately perish (Prov.29:18 KJV, NKJV, NIV)
4. God speaks personally to us through visions (Num. 12:6/ Job 33:14-18)
5. God’s divine will is revealed through visions:
A) God said so to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, “I the Lord will make Myself known unto him in a vision (Num.12:6)
B) Elihu pointed this out to Job and his 3 friends (Job 33:14-15)
C) Zacharias knew God’s will by the vision he saw in the temple. Gabriel the Arch Angel told him he will have a child and he’s to name him John (Luke 1:11-25)
D) Mary knew God’s will when Gabriel appeared to her and revealed that she will be divinely impregnated and have the Savior of the world six months after Zacharias had his vision (Luke 1:26-38)
E) Ananias knew God’s will by the vision he received concerning Paul’s calling and ministry (Acts 9:10-18)
6. God warns us through visions (Job 33:14-18)
7. God tells us to write down the visions we receive (Hab. 2:2-3)
8. God wants us to exercise patience by waiting for the visions to manifest and come true (Hab. 2:2-3)
9. God wants us to tell the vision we receive when He directs us to:
A) Jesus told His disciples not to tell anyone He was transfigured and that Moses and Elijah appeared on the Mount of Olives (Matt. 17:9) but only after He rose from the dead they were allowed to talk about it.
B) Only after prayer and fasting, then finding favor with the King and arriving quietly in Jerusalem spending several days carefully observing and assessing the damage to the walls. Nehemiah went public with his vision and mission from God (Neh. Chap.1&2)
10. We can know the future through visions:
A) Zacharias knew the future about his wife baring a child and his child’s future as a prophet of God (Luke 1:11-25)
B) Mary knew the future about her baring a child and that Jesus is the Savior of her soul and the whole world (Luke 1:26-38)
C) Ananias knew about Paul’s future as being a great servant of God (Acts 9:10-18)
D) There are more examples I will include them later.
11. As believers we must be aware that visions and revelations become rare if sin and transgressions are dominant. Eli’s sons had a prostitution ring going on in the temple Eli warn them but did not take drastic measures so God held His visions from Eli. (1 Sam.3:1)
12. False prophets pretend to have visions in Ezekiel’s time (Ezek. 13:1-16)
13. False visions are always opposed to God’s Word and they will fight against a true prophet of God. (Jer.14:14-15)
14. We should not take the visions of God lightly
A) In Ezekiel’s time God’s people took the visions of God lightly. They did not heed the warnings or commandments of God and continued to live carelessly without repenting. They thought God’s judgement and chastisement will fall on the following generation (Ezek.12:21-28)
B) God clearly pointed out that the predictions that Ezekiel spoke about will surely come soon. 6-10 years later the Babylonians came and destroyed them they left the humble, poor, and Ezekiel alive (Ezekiel 12:21-28)
I will return with part 2 of visions we will learn how you can tell a vision is from God and how to work with them when you receive them. Enjoy the study and help others by sharing this information God will bless you to receive Visions.
