A wise man will hear and increase learning. And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel. Proverbs 1:5
Be kinder to yourself and learn to learn. C.S Lewis once said, “There is nothing progressive about being big headed and refusing to admit a mistake.”
Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge. But he who hates correction is stupid. Proverbs 12.1 the bible says so and ‘stupid’ in the bible mean stupid!
Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction but he who regards a rebuke will be honoured. Proverbs 13:18
“A wise man doesn’t give right answers but posses the right questions.” Chide Levi – Struse.
Ask questions on things you don’t understand. No matter what effort you make, you will never know all things by yourself. High places of reigning require a high level of learning.
A wise man is strong; yes a man of knowledge increase strength. For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, and in a multitude of counselors there is safety. Proverbs 24:5,6.
Jesus reasoned with his disciples:
For which of you intending to build a tower does not sit down first to count the cost. Whether he has enough to finish it. Lest after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish all who see it begin to mock him saying, “this man began to build and was not able to finish,” or what king going to make war against another king does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with 10 thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Luke 14:25 – 3
Surely, if Jesus thought things this way, it’s only wise of us to open our heart to wise counsel and learn to learn.
