I got close to the TV.
As I heard your awful screams.
I saw people come and go,
broken buildings,broken bones.
And it all seems so surreal!
Hard to tell you how I feel.
I just watch the pictures play,
think to myself; I should pray!
She came at you by surprise,
shaken look within your eyes.
Sixty five are dead, so far,
many more may meet the stars.
This is hard to comprehend,
To New Zealand, love I send.
Wish that I could wipe your eyes,
finding Christ in each fault line.
We didn't get to meet at all,
Saw Christchurch Cathedral fall.
Saw it's spire lay in the earth,
can't compare to person's worth.
If I had to phone a friend,
my phone call would never end.
I would tie up every line,
until Jesus says: 'You're Mine.'
