NEBUCHADNEZZAR the king to all the peoples, nations, and men of every language that live in all the earth: May your peace abound! It seemed good to me to declare the signs and wonders which the Most High God has done for me. How great are His signs, and how mighty are His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and His dominion is from generation to generation. (Daniel 4:1)
Nebuchadnezzar has finally received a faith in the living God that is his own. His experience has left him with a conviction that he now knows to be true.Nebuchadnezzarís testimony serves as a model for us in sharing the good news with others. Notice some of the obvious changes that have taken place.
First, there is the desire for others to know. It is not something he can keep to himself. He wishes the message to be declared throughout his kingdom.
Second, His desire is that peace may abound: This coming from the king who once reigned through fear and intimidation. This statement is also a promise that his kingdom will be one where peace is possible.
Third He reveals a genuine change in his understanding of Godís goodness and greatness
In this chapter of Nebuchadnezzarís life, we shall examine how the change took place. Embracing truth is not always easy. Sometimes truth forces us to believe things that we donít want to change. The good news is that he forsook his idols and turned to the living God.
What message of Godís goodness do you have to share in your kingdom that will bring peace to others? Have you forsaken the idols in your life that have held you captive and turned to the God of truth and peace?
