I came into this world shouting & screaming
When held in your arms, it was consoling & soothing
I was taught to walk, held by your hand
When later in life you told me how tall I need to stand…

As years rolled by and now I have grown
With a little family of my own
You became my friend, my confidant & my guide
My silent pillar of strength in times of strife…

When I needed to hear you
I’d pick up the phone
You’d listen with care & comfort my soul
Your soothing voice would make me whole…

You left me so sudden; it was not out of choice
I know you’re waiting for me by my Saviour’ side
We’ll meet again someday soon on that bright glorious side
‘cause my Lord’s promise is forever so true
And His assurance of Heaven is forever so sure…
