There has been a shift in the Obama Administration in the last few months and almost no one has noticed it. They have been using the phrase “Freedom of Worship instead of Freedom of Religion. When asked, they said the terms are interchangeable. But are they?
Their definition of Freedom of Worship and I quote, “It simply means that you were able to attend Worship service.” Again, that sounds fine; but look a little deeper. What they want us to believe that the first amendment only guarantees us the right to worship in our little churches or out of the public view. Some still say this is okay, because worship is a private matter between you and God.
Freedom of Religion gives us the ability to practice our Religion not only in our churches but also in public. You see, Freedom of Worship would prevent any public displays of religion. If this is what they get, they could take this pretty far. One of the first things that come to mind has already been happening. That is removing of all Bible verses or references to God from public. They removed a judge in Alabama from the bench because he refused to remove the Ten Commandments from his courtroom wall. Here in Houston, they removed a statue of a Bible from in front of a court building just because it represented the Bible. Then there is always Christmas time; they try to keep people from putting out a Manger scene in the public. They even are trying to keep people from saying Merry Christmas.
According to Tom Farr, the former head of the International Religious Freedom office “will prevent you from raising your children in your own faith” because this would be called indoctrination. A huge one is that evangelism, door to door or in any public setting would not be allowed. Therefore, no Billy Graham Crusades, no Christian concerts, no door to door evangelism, no knocking on doors to invite kids to VBS. This could also make it illegal to wear a Christian Tee shirt or tie; billboards or advertising any church activity would also be illegal.
I have just scratched the surface of what this could mean for us Christians if this idea is allowed to continue. I ask you to please be praying about this and tell as many people as you can about this. Send people to my website to read this; or print it out so they can read it. Chuck Colson’s web site also has more information about this; that is where I learned about it. Most of all, DO NOT SIT ON THIS INFORMATION.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
