"The Story of Jesus
and the Woman with an Issue of Blood"
( an adaptation taken from Luke 8:43-48 of the Old Testament from The Holy Bible )
by Melineze Logan Hite
A woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years was waiting with a crowd of people for Jesus. She had spent all of her savings on physicians, but none could heal her.
She finally saw Jesus, so she went behind him and touched the border of his garment.
Immediately, she was healed!
"Who touched me?" asked Jesus, the saviour of the world and the son of the living God.
All denied.
"Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee!" answered Peter and those with him.
Jesus said, "Somebody hath touched me, because virtue is gone gone out of me."
When the woman, whose issue of blood had stopped, saw that she was not hid, trembling, she came forward and fell down at the feet of Jesus.
She declared before all the people, "I touched Jesus, because I had an issue of blood for twelve years. When I touched the border of his garment, I was instantly healed! Praise God!"
Jesus blesses her, "Daughter, be of good comfort. Thy faith hath made thee whole. Go in peace."
The End
(Luke 8:43-48)
43And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
44Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
45And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
46And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
47And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
48And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
