“Her baby died,” I heard someone say.
I slipped away so I could pray
A baby’s death is so hard to bear
I know that grief; I’ve been there.
What does one say to a grieving mother?
Please don’t say, “You can have another.”
Instead, just sit, sit and listen
Words aren’t needed, her eyes still glisten.
A friend is what that grieving mom needs,
A friend who knows and falls, in prayer, to her knees.
I had such a friend when my baby girl died;
She let me talk and she let me cry.
Still today my heart will break
The pain of loss, it's like an earthquake.
With my baby girl’s death my world seemed to crumble
Tears flowed freely, my stomach churned and tumbled.
Today when I hear “the baby died,”
My heart feels grief as I confide
“In your shoes I walked, I know it’s tough,
Call me when of grief you’ve had enough.”
“We’ll talk, we’ll laugh and no doubt cry,
But mother to mother we know what our tears imply;
Those babies we lost, we loved so much
We’d give anything their smooth skin to touch.”
So dear friends, when a grieving mom you see,
Listen with ears, just listen that what she needs.
The hopes and dreams of that grieving mom
Have vanished, but you can be her healing balm.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
