What can man do to me,
What can they say?
That I would turn from You,
Or let my faith slip away.
Shall they twist my words around,
Or gossip about what I do?
Will the lies they speak about me,
Make me turn my back on You?
What can man do to me,
What stones shall they toss my way?
Will the poison darts they throw,
Cause me to bow and sway?
Shall they run and chase after me,
And cause me to lose the race?
Will they catch up to me,
And cause me shame and disgrace?
What can man do to me,
That would make me lose my grip?
As long as Jesus is my captain,
I will not give up the ship!
