If only I could feel what my faith professes!
It would lighten my load and relieve all my stresses!
It would tap into a storehouse of infinite delight,
It would add spring to my steps each day and each night!
Oh, what a world of joy my soul would know!
Oh, what a fountain of pleasure from my trials would flow!
What stirring of ambition, what inflaming of zeal,
When things of this earth would no longer appeal!
I know I would be content come hell or high-water,
I would rest in His promises to son and to daughter!
But “Hush!” all of my silly feelings,
“Silence!” all my vain desires,
For God wouldn’t be God if he didn’t have a plan much higher!
Here is proof, for from out of eternity a Prophet once spoke,
“THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH” and its him I quote.
The lesson I’ve learned I’ll pass on to you,
If faith is my Fathers good will, I’ll trust in His character,
However I feel!
