The Power of Expectation by Bayo Omoyiola, Jr
Scriptural references:
For surely there is a reward; and your expectation shall not be cut off - Proverbs 23:18
Therefore I say to you, what things so ever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them – Mark 11:24
Now to him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us – Ephesians 3:20
(Other references: Romans 5:5; 1 Corinthians 15:17, 19; Job 22:29; Jeremiah 29:11; 2 Corinthians 2:14a; 2 Corinthians 1:20)
Word of the Lord:
God has precious promises and a wonderful plan and purpose for your life. For He said in Jeremiah 29:11 that He has good plans for you and that His plan for you is to prosper you and to give you a hope and a future. Yes, He has good plans and promises but He wants you to have faith and expectation in order to receive from him. Even though all His promises are Yes and Amen (according to 2 Corinthians 1:20) but you still need expectation. In Mark 11:24, our Lord Jesus Christ said whatever you desire and have prayed about, you should believe you have received them (Mark 11:24). Beloved, there is a great power in having a desire and expectation. Ephesians 3:20 reveals that God can do exceeding, abundantly above all we ask or think according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). That power is the power of expectation in you and I. If we would believe God, He will do great and greater things in our lives. Amen?
I love the scriptures that tells us that, the expectation of the righteous would not be cut off (Proverbs 23:18) and the one that says - hope makes not ashamed (Romans 5:5). Isn't that wonderful? Our faith in Christ is not in vain. We would have been miserable people if our hope in Christ was in vain (1 Corinthians 15:17; 19). But thanks be to God who causes us to triumph in all things so that we can boldly say - there is a raising up, when the naysayers around us are saying there is a casting down (2 Corinthians 2:14a; Job 22:29). I pray for you, that your expectations would become manifestations in Jesus name.
Prayer: Father God, turn my expectations to manifestations. I pray with thanksgiving in Jesus name.
