Here it is Monday 4/12/04 4:15 P.M.
To see the excitement of your children as they hunt Easter eggs is such a joy.
You o out and hide the eggs and watch as your children find them.
You hear I found one or here it is.
They try to find as many as they can and even say just one more or I wonder what kind of prize is in this one.
Yes they may play Easter egg hunt a few days after Easter but eventually they turn their attention towards something else they say is fun.
You think maybe the reason children so easily turn their attention from one thing to another is because they do as they see?
Something that was going through my mind Sunday morning April 11,2004 Easter Day was this.
People of the world and many Christians need to stop treating Jesus like an Easter egg hunt.
When a child finds an Easter egg they get all excited.
When one finds Jesus they get excited.
After a while the thrill of the Easter egg is replaced.
Sadly for many the same is true when it comes to Jesus.
Now you may say that Jesus is not hiding.
So why did I mention when some find Jesus?
Simply because many act as if Jesus is hiding from them and part of the game is to find Him.
And no accepting Jesus is not a game and that is the part so many miss.
See they play Jesus hunt and when they find they want more or a better prize and possibly say oh just one more.
With Easter eggs you can hide them anyplace as long as it is safe for your children.
Even around or in a tree.
And even when Jesus was nailed to the tree He was in plain view for all to see.
Sadly many refused to see Jesus even then.
Some even have the nerve to say, Father I found Him.
When they didn’t even know what they were looking for.
Jesus is not hiding and never will.
And when it comes to Jesus and you I ask.
Is Jesus hid or in plain view for all to see?
And when the time arrives and you are standing there as the Book of Life is opened will you hear
Here it is?
