You are the one who stretched the stars across the sky
who placed the planets in orbit
and gave us time as we know it.
You are the one who dressed the earth in your beauty and majesty
you are the one who lets the tide role out only to bring it in again
and you are the one who coaxed the flowers to bud and the buds to produce fruit.
You send the rain to clean and water the land
a rainbow for your promise of protection
and the sunshine to bless us with the joy of your presence.
But you are also the one who sent your son
to suffer a glorious and brutal death.
So like poppies in a field - we rise from your ashes
to flower among humanity – to testify.
Of a glorious and beautiful God
the creator – the one and only Lord of all
the Father of creation
the redeemer of the wretched
and the lover of the lost.
Wild, abandoned and naked
we worship you.
