A number of years ago we were living on the farm and in dire financial straits but still rejoicing in the Lord. I had the desire to go to a Sword of the Lord Bible Conference and so I was praying " Lord, I would love to go that bible conference, and if it would be in your economy Lord, I pray that You would make it happen. But Lord, if not, I praise You anyways." The time soon approached for the conference to take place (about three months later) and still no sign of being able to attend. I thought , well, I guess it is not the Lord's will for me to go. One Sunday I headed up to a a near by town for a church service at which the regular pastor had had a special speaker fill in for him. This was in Sault, Ontario, Canada. The speaker was from the Sault, Michigan area. He was an elderly fellow and preached a great message. I had a gospel tract sticking out of my shirt pocket, entitled" What must I do to be saved? (By John R. Rice) After the service the pastor came down from the pulpit and began chatting with a couple of us fellows. He noticed the tract in my pocket and said, "Did you get saved through the reading of that tract? I said, yes God did use it along with some other literature and reading the Bible to bring me to know the Lord. We chatted for awhile longer and then he mentioned that he had to get going back to Sault, Michigan area as he had to preach again that evening. I asked him if it was possible that I might get a ride with him as far as the International Bridge as I had a friend that I wished to visit in the area. He said , by all means, come along. On the way over to the bridge area I was sharing with him a few things and when we arrived at the bridge area, he said. Brother, do you mind if we just pray a bit before we depart from each other, I said yes, I would enjoy that as well. He went ahead and prayed and then we shook hands to leave. Just as I was exiting the vehicle, he said, brother do you have a cassette recorder at home. I said, yes I do. He said, well I just came back from attending a bible conference with Sword of the Lord and I have all of the sermons here. I will leave them with you and you can just give them to pastor Jeff when you are finished with them. I said, praise the Lord brother, I had wanted to go down to that bible conference and had even been praying to that end, but Praise God, He brought the bible conference here to me, Hallelujah, What a Saviour. We shook hands again had a hearty laugh and he left. With God, all things are possible. I got to enjoy the conference right in the comfort of my own home. God knows all things and our hearts desire and when we are living lives pleasing to Him, He gives us the desires of our hearts. Amen? Amen!!
