What’s in a name?
Not much
I hear you say.
Just a thing to call myself
As I go along my way.
Can there be more to this?
A hint
Of what we should be
Just a glimmer
Of what the Father would have us see.
Yet in his name there was power
That healed the sick
And raised the dead
He walked on water
As along the way he led
He walked the shores of that desert land
Twelve followers
Walked with him wherever he went
Seeking to share with all who would listen
The message that the Father sent.
He sent them out
To lands far and wide
Taking his name
With them
To share with the nations was the aim
At first they listened
As sick were healed
And dead were raised
As nations turned
His name was praised
Is there still power
In the name
The one that changed history
That crushed tyrants
And revealed a mystery
Look to the east and see
Where the name has been
Sick are healed
As they discover what it means
He still walks the lands
Calling those who will listen
Showing the power of the name
As he claims those
Who will own the name.
