When you think about the question posed in the title of this piece it sounds a bit ridiculous, doesn’t it? Most of us would drop everything in our Daytimer to spend time with the King or even with the president (most years). We’d view it as a once in a life time situation and make sure it happened. Well, the Creator of the Universe wants to spend time with me and with you even today.
Imagine Him who made it all caring about you and me. Caring enough that he’d want to meet and talk and listen and encourage. How can we not make time? Why would He even have to ask…. I remember the time, not so long ago, when He laid this on my heart. The quote about “if you’re not too busy” about killed me. But I had a choice and could choose to spend time in His incredible presence. Still a bit unbelieving that He would seriously want to spend time with me. He does want that. To spend time with you and me on a regular basis, incredible though that may seem it is true:
Daughter, I desire to speak to your heart, if you’re not too busy. All is not lost as I’m working in and through many things. Rejoice in Me – I love you both so much. Love each other! Selah.
Prayer: Oh, my Lord, if I am not too busy. My eyes move down in shame although I know that is not what you intended. Yes, You definitely got my attention. Lord, what can I be doing that is more important that You and listening to You and lifting my feeble praises? Please forgive me, Lord Jesus. Thank You for Your patience. I know You are trying to teach even that to me. I am such a SHEEP. Forgive me, Lord? AMEN
Surely every man walks about like a shadow; Surely they busy themselves in vain; He heaps up riches, And does not know who will gather them. (NKJV)
For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart. (NKJV)
1 Samuel 2:1
[ Hannah’s Prayer ] And Hannah prayed and said:“My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation. (NKJV)
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. (NKJV)
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. (NKJV)
