The janitor had just locked up the school and the last of the nearby homes were switching off their bedroom lights as the trio crept toward the basement window that led to the science lab. Earl, George and David crawled through the window. They headed strait to the locker area.
Earlier that day, George had watched a “foot-ball jock” stuff a large bag of marijuana into an empty binder at the bottom of his locker. After he got home from school, George told his loyal smoking-buddies all the details. They each drooled at the thought of getting high from all that weed. They were thrilled when George told them that he had un-locked the window to the science lab before dismissal that day. They devised and succeeded in their plan to break-in. Or, so they thought…
George and David were still Junior’s at the school. George often fought with his parents and stayed in trouble at school. David came from a well-to-do Christian family. Earl was the oldest. He had quit school the year before; had a girlfriend with a child on the way.
I was the “child on the way“.
This “season” of young folly changed the course of the rest of their lives.
David’s spiritual conviction lead him to confessing this un-reported crime.
Earl (my father) had just joined the Army. After reporting to his first duty station, he was arrested for the breaking and entering of that school. He became enraged and stabbed David to his death. He was sentenced to death.
George married Earl’s estranged girlfriend (my mother). He became born-again by the blood of Jesus Christ. He established a Christian-based program to help juveniles with addiction to marijuana. He died of lung-cancer.
After his death, I found out that George was my bio-logical father.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
