Giving yourself time to look at God's ways is good enough for every Christian. Though one has to be careful about erroneously thinking that this is some sort of sacrifice. God's ways are revealed by grace, and grace is seen by faith; which in turn is a gift from God.
Remember when Jesus prayed with the disciples what we now call The Lord's Prayer! He highlighted that we better say a few words in faith than many in doubt. Because once we are reborn, we believe in a Father who sent his Son; him who later left his Spirit to counsel us.
Thus it is not for us to know, but for the Spirit to show. It is not for us to find, but for the Spirit to give. Yes we have to look, knock & ask; but we also have to wait in belief.
