Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were entreating through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
(II Corinthians 5:20)
One plan of Satan to hinder the spread of the Gospel is to destroy the identity of the Christian. Studying the life and character of Daniel is a perfect way to discover how God desires us to function in the kingdom of this world. We live in an age of evangelicalism yet it is rare to find faithful followers like Daniel who refuse to be caught up in the world’s system. Most of the time we discover Christians, after long conversations with them, who finally admit to having made some kind of Commitment to Christ. The verse we are looking at describes who we are (Ambassadors; those who represent the kingdom of light in a world overcome by darkness.) Second, it describes what our mission is to be. (Proclaiming and shouting from the housetops the message of salvation and being made one with God)
God has no secret service. An ambassador must do several things. First he must love the King. Second He must be familiar with the message and finally the message must be his greatest concern and imbeded into his lifestyle.
Has Satan succeeded in stealing your Christian identity? Are you so wrapped up in the culture that no-one could recognize who you are and what is your purpose?
Why not determine today to be faithful and allow God to work His perfect will in you?
