Little Loretta had a pet Guinea pig. It was a light browned coloured creature named Ginger. She named him Ginger because of her colour. Loretta like to dress up the guinea pig in her old doll's clothes.
She dressed her in a pink dress. when she put on the dress on the small creature, she went around and squawked, "wee!Wee! Wee! Whenever Loretta came home from school, Ginger looked up at her at squawked.
Sometimes Ginger squawked at night while other people in Loretta's family like her mom and dad are trying to sleep. Ginger always in Loretta's room. Loretta's parents could hear ginger squawk at 3 in the morning.
One morning, Loretta's parents told her to put Ginger downstairs because they their bedroom was right next to Loretta's, and they could hear Ginger squawk, and move around her cage noisily.
When Loretta put Ginger downstairs before she went to bed. She went up to her bedroom, and she couldn't hear her. That night the whole family slept better.
Sometimes Loretta let Ginger out of her cage, so that she could explore the house. Ginger ran in Loretta's dad's office which was downstairs. sometimes her dad said,
"Loretta! Get that small animal out of here. I have work to do. Loretta's father sat behind his desk grading assignments, and tests. He was a math teacher.
Six months later Loretta noticed that something was wrong with Ginger. Her eyes were watery, and she didn't eat as much as she used to. Loretta's mother took the small animal to vet clinic. The veterinarian said that Ginger had a bit of pneumonia, so he gave Loretta's mother some medication to give to the small creature. Loretta prayed that Ginger wouldn't die. she loved that small rodent.
A couple of days later, Ginger only became worse. she couldn't understand why she was so sick. Her mother gave her some medication with her water, but it didn't help. The next day Ginger died, and Loretta cried. Loretta's father took the small body, and buried it in the backyard. Loretta's parents comforted her, and said that Ginger had a good life, and that they don't live very long.
As Loretta continued to greive, she spoke with other children at the school where she attended. A lot of them have dwelt with pet loss. It has been almost a year before Loretta got herself another pet. She got a cat from a friend her couldnt' look after him anymore. The cat and Loretta became good friends, but she never forgot the good times she had with Ginger.
