As I awoke on January 1, 2011 this question came to my mind. "Why do we celebrate New Year's"?
Some celebrate by watching millions of lights turned on; they shout, scream, kiss and dance in the streets. The media shows the display all over the world. ...Australia, Japan, China, England and New York City. Millions of dollars are spent on this event when the world is in an economic crisis. WHY? Others partake of alcoholic beverages to celebrate the 'New Year' and the media (prior to the event) tells the people what to do to get over the hangover. The police are out (extra patrols) to prevent the inebriated from having or causing an accident. Then the day after the maintenance crews have to clean up the mess. Does this make sense? Think about it.
Is it a tradition? Is it really a New Year of just the progression of time? May I share my thoughts about it?
God lives in the now. I believe time began when Adam sinned and time is coming to a close sooner than most want it to. Progression of time; a second becomes a minute, a minute becomes an hour, an hour becomes a day/night, days becomes months, months become years and years become decades.... and so it goes on an on until Jesus returns where there will only be the NOW.
PRAISE GOD FOR HIS SOON RETURN
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
