There is no doubt that Nebuchadnezzar had high standards for those who would serve in his court. Daniel and his friends were part of that select group but they were not there to serve Nebuchadnezzar. They were representatives of another kingdom, and were there by Godís appointment and He had a different purpose for them. The purpose of the king for them was to make him look good. The call of the world is conformity. God calls his servants to be different. His standards are different and so are his purposes.

There is always the pressure to be pulled into its mold. Be confident that our faithfulness to Christ will make a difference in others. We are part of a kingdom that doesnít conform but brings change in the lives of people.
Dare to be a Daniel,
Dare to stand alone;
Dare to have a purpose firm
and Dare to make it known
