To begin our lesson we must define what an ambassador is. I heard it defined like this: “one who represents the person of a king in the court of another”. If that definition is true, then Daniel was an ambassador and if we are Christ’s so are we.
Daniel represents the king of Heaven in the land of one supremely wicked king. Between these two kingdoms Daniel remained faithful to God’s kingdom.
Like Daniel, Christians are likewise representatives of heaven in a world that is sick and dying. As we will learn in future studies, this hostile world that we live in is a challenge to personal purity, unwavering commitment and determined loyalty. The world cannot stand for these character qualities to exist and continually tries to erase that which makes Godly persons stand out. When Romans 12:2 says “be not conformed to this world” it literally means to not let the world pull you into its mold. As we continue our study in Daniel we shall see how he sets before us an example of what it means to be an over-comer
.I recall the message of a great hymn.
.I am a stranger here within a foreign land.
My home is far away upon a golden strand
Ambassador’s to be to lands beyond the Sea
I’m here on business for my king.
This is the message that I bring, a message angel’s fain would sing
O Be ye reconciled thus saith my God and king O Be ye reconciled to God
