There was no question in Daniels mind as to how he arrived in Babylon (the place where he least wanted to be) and for what reason. His arrival was part of a massive movement by Nebuchadnezzar to bring about God’s new plan for the nation of Israel. Daniel and his friends were carefully selected to serve in the palace, for the king’s selfish purposes.
Sometimes we may face circumstances which may be undesirable. “How did I wind up here? That is not how I planned for my life to end.” The truth is that your life is not over and maybe you are in spiritual boot camp in preparation for God’s greater work. Maybe you spent much time and money in preparing for your future which you planned for economic success. Now you find yourself flipping burgers in a restaurant or hauling trash in a hospital. “That’s not what I planned” you think to yourself.
When we find ourselves in circumstances beyond our control remember that God is still in control. The work you thought He wanted to do through you has been changed to what He wants to do in you. God is in the business of building character that leads to true success. What I allow Him to do in me now, is the preparation for the greater work that He will do later.
If you find yourself in circumstances less than desirable? recall that God is still the master architect and is presently designing a blueprint for your life that will glorify Him.
