Revival is coming. America's churches are being refined and purified to equip them for the coming harvest of souls. Judgment begins in God's house. That's great news for those who seek His face. But what a warning for those who stubbornly cling to old ways.
"The 'hypocrites in Zion' are afraid. Who among us shall live with everlasting burnings?" (Isaiah 33:14) Through the fear of the Lord men will turn from evil. He shakes the world to wake His church and turn her back to Him.
In response to His people's cries God will bring revival to the land. It will start in one city and spread from there throughout the entire country. (I got this vision over a year ago and I do believe it's already happening).
This revival will be unlike other revivals that have gone before it in that it will not be promoted through big tent meetings or famous evangelists, but through ordinary Christians reaching outside their homes into their neighborhoods to preach the gospel to people on the streets and sidewalks. They will lay hands on the sick and the sick will recover. People will be healed, mighty miracles will take place. God will give His people extraordinary boldness to speak the Word, with signs and wonders following.
If you want to be a part of it, just yield to Him. For it is His boldness, not your own efforts, that will do this.
To experience His power sent from on high you must become like a little child. Give your gifts and talents to Jesus. Learn a lesson from the wise men who presented to Him their gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
The gold stands for faith refined by fiery trials (and not your own might). The widow indeed put in her mite, which, like her might, was small, so that in her weakness He could show His strength. If you want revival, you must learn to find your joy in God rather than in your own 'might' (mite). Buy from Him gold refined by fire, and salve with which to anoint your eyes (Revelation 3:18)
The frankincense (or 'frank' (honest) incense) stands for death to yourself and your own ideals. It is like self burnt up. When added to your prayer it rises before God's throne as a fragrant smell (Revelation 8:3-5). To present your incense, honestly admit that don't know how to pray the way you ought. Be still before Him; let Him pray through you with Holy Spirit-inspired words and utterances. (Romans 8:26-27) Cast your cares on Him, with thanksgiving, and His peace will guard your mind and hearts. (Phillipians 4:19) Don't rush your time with God.
The myrrh stands is your sacrifice of praise, meant to be poured on his feet. (John 12:3) Mixed with tears it brings refreshing rain to cleanse His church.
But not all will be made clean. For the same water that refreshes sheep reveals the presence of Judas the betrayer, standing all wet in a mud puddle with his umbrella blown inside- out, cursing the One who dares rain on his pity parade.
Those who wish to live godly (instead of 'goldly') in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
Greater glory brings greater persecution, brought to you not only by unbelievers but by religious hypocrites who embrace a form of godliness while denying its power. Heal the sick, raise the dead or cleanse lepers and you will be persecuted by those who prefer man-made cures for fleshly thorns.
Take a stand for Christ in any way and they will look for any way to shoot you down.
How you respond depends on whether or not you think heaven is worth it. For revival is coming soon, but when the Lord visits His church will He find faith on the earth?
