Many years ago a child was born,
A child of God that brought love and light,
He was born in a lowly stable,
Illuminated by a star that night.
The Spirits gave notice of his birth,
To the shepherds and the three wise men,
They travelled from a far to see the child,
Beautiful gifts they brought with them.
This child grew up to teach the world,
To live in peace with each another,
To treat all with love and respect,
Living in harmony with each other.
He preached the word of God,
His pulpit was wherever he spoke,
His words were like milk and honey,
His wisdom was as strong as the oak.
He healed so many people,
Not concerned about their belief,
For he was so very humble,
Comforting the bereaved in there grief,
He returned to Spirit to his Father,
For his task on earth had been done,
He had planted the seed of knowledge,
And his Father was pleased with his Son.
We all have been touched by that knowledge,
For that seed continues to thrive,
In the hearts and minds of all people,
Through out the rest of our life.
Christmas is not a celebration for everyone,
For we all have our pathways to tread,
And remember our Fathers promise,
That in Spirit there are no dead.
Let us all make this year special,
As we send our thoughts as we pray,
To say thank God for that small child,
As in that manger he lay.
