For many centuries, the earth had eagerly waited for the arrival of the ‘Seed of the woman’ which God promised would crush the serpent’s head. As the time of fulfillment of the promise drew near, the Almighty God Himself set the stage for the arrival of His only begotten Son, His birth would change the world in the most magnificent way!
Nothing about the birth of Jesus Christ was accidental: the census, which necessitated Joseph’s and heavily pregnant Mary’s journey to Bethlehem of Judea, the non availability of room in the inn, the stinking manger, etc, all the circumstances were carefully planned by God to fulfill a divine purpose.
Today, Christmas is widely celebrated with pomp and pageantry, but the birth of God’s Son took place in a lowly and stinking manger. The noble men, who came from the corners of the world, set aside their pride and arrogance and rolled on the floor of the stinking manger just to worship the King.
Now the King is no longer in the manger, He rules and reigns supreme from the highest throne above, but no one can reign with Him who has not gone to worship Him in the ‘manger’. At this Christmas, let us all go to the ‘manger’ of humility, righteousness and lowliness of heart, this is the most significant way to celebrate the Lord’s birth.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year in advance!
