For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. Psalm 44:3;
Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. Psalm 102:13
It is difficult to describe favour in one word. Favour is a package which encompasses a lot of goodies, its effects upon a manís life are enormous and far reaching. When a man is operating under divine favour, he will be accepted, exalted, promoted and celebrated! The atmosphere created by favour turns an ordinary man to an extra-ordinary man, a failure to a success, a nonentity to a celebrity, a nobody to a distinguished, such is the wonder of favour!
Favour is one of the manifestations of Godís blessing upon a manís life. What this means is that if a man is blessed, he will be automatically favoured. There is no way you can experience uncommon favour if you are living under a curse. Many people wonder why they are not finding favour in their lives, they have failed to realize that the first thing to seek in order to experience favour is Godís blessing. The blessing of the Lord causes a man to be favoured, it is only those who are operating under the covenant blessing of God that will experience unceasing flow of favour all around. How much we need to seek Godís blessing and nothing more!
Divine favour is a gift from the Almighty God. If God decides to favour a man, there is bound to be unusual transformation around him. For instance, when God remembered and favoured the children of Israel, the Egyptians against their wishes, released them from bondage of four hundred and thirty years and also gave them gifts, gold, silver, bronze, and garments before they finally left Egypt. One thing with divine favour is that it compels people, including those who hate you, to offer you assistance and helps you never asked for!
Favour has two faces; one of the faces is towards God, and the other is towards men. The scripture speaks of the child Samuel growing up in favour with God and with men. This implies that it is not enough to find favour in the sight of men, finding favour with God is much more important. While it is possible for anyone to receive kindness in one form or the other from men, it is only those who are in covenant relationship with God that can have favour with Him. A sinner can receive an act of kindness from God to a certain extent, after all the scripture says that God causes rain to fall both on the righteous and the wicked, but a sinner who is not ready to repent and be converted to righteousness cannot find favour with God. The most terrible thing that can befall a man in life is to fall out of favour with God. The life of anyone who falls out of favour with God is bound to be empty, wretched and miserable, just like Saul, who fell out of favour with God!
Another wonder of divine favour is that it makes a man to have great results with very little inputs. A man that is operating under divine favour never struggles for anything, his labour is without sweat, he gets maximum returns with very little efforts. So many people are living lives of struggles day in day out; they struggle virtually for everything in life - they struggle to feed, struggle to fend for their families, struggle to go to school, struggle to get a job, struggle to get married, struggle to buy a land, struggle to build a house, struggle with their health, struggle for everything. If your life is full of struggles, what you need to experience total turn around is divine favour. May heaven smile on you today.
Dearly beloved, to be a candidate for uncommon favour, you have to position yourself well. Righteous living is what makes your life attractive to God, and once God is delighted in you, you are bound to find favour with Him and with men. It does not matter who is against you, if God be for you, you are victorious. Seek God passionately with all your heart and let your ways delight Him, you are the next person on the line, your set time has come, you are the candidate for uncommon favour! Congratulations!
