When you were TRULY considerate, was it to one of 'those closest'?
When you showed concern,
When you shared UNCONDITIONAL love,
When you gave FREELY of YOURSELF;
Was it to one of 'those closest'?
'Those closest', often, don't DEMAND;
'Those closest' sometimes simply stand
And see consideration, concern, and love
Given to others;
While they, themselves, starve
And hope for just a smile or a kind word
(That DOESN'T come to 'those closest.')
When YOU ache inside for ANOTHER'S hurts
Could you muster the same degree of pain
Should the sufferer be one of 'those closest?'
Are 'those closest' just 'always THERE'
Asking little, relentless in their caring,
Generous in their sharing of LIFE,
Simply yearning for a GLIMPSE of your consideration,
A HINT of your concern and love;
KNOWING you HAD these feelings.
Are they DEPLETED?
Have they ALL been showered on others;
Until NONE remain for
'Those closest'?

So TRUE! Isn't it awful how we tend to give the worst treatment to those closest to us? I enjoyed this. I saw a couple of typos - but easy to fix. Bravo!
