In Due Season
Periwinkle kiss
green skirts dance, flirting. Romance.
Pursuit: I love you.
Smooth satin sea of
green, rest in committed arms.
Solid - Two now one.
Weathered limbs shiver.
Leaves quiver, like tears before
they fall. Winds of change.
Barren brown branches
grieving loss of green, yet stand
lifeless, wondering.
Whisper tender greens
to apprehensive buds, “Risk.”
Let the dance begin.
