I'm looking out my window
to see the sky at night,
and everything around me
is such a wondrous sight.
I see lights through the darkness
of cars and towns close by,
of silhouettes of trees and plants
each telling a beautiful lie.
It's always different in the dark
and not quite as it seems,
things never looking as they should
just like they do in dreams.
The darkness surrounds me
in it's beautiful lie,
and keeps my soul peaceful
until night has gone by.
I feel no need for fear
but only for love,
as the light of my Lord
flows through like a dove.
No need to fear the unknown
or what we cannot see,
he can lock the doors to fear
he's the one and only key.
